I’ve used one of these as a helmet light since 2006 – just removed the strap and used two short velcro straps to cinch it down snug…great for reading signs when navigating at night. I’ve been happy with it and will continue to use it in tandem with a LED handlebar light.

Similar in power to the old-style Princeton Tec EOS, so some might not find it bright enough nowadays – it’s enough for me. The buttons are a bit small and the ‘Boost’ mode is unecessary in my book (I’d rather there be a single big button ala Princeton Tec). Two good features are the ‘wide angle lens’ – which is great around camp, and the mount – which is indexed…so it stays put when you adjust it to a certain angle.

Reliability has been perfect and battery life has been as advertised.
