Great write-up! I passed through the lagunas region in December 2011 and after spending 5 weeks touring Chile, Argentina, Peru and Bolivia this was the standout in terms of scenery and ‘wow’ factor. We also passed a couple of mtb tourers on the route – it’s obviously becoming popular!
Great ride, accomplishment. Hope you get reminded how unique that is, I’m sure you felt it at the time. It makes me think that a trip through nevada might be doable.
