I have used these on and off for about a year and have friends that have used them for quite a bit longer. light. work as advertised. I havn’t gotten sick yet. My adventure racing/lightweight friends won’t leave home without then. My only complaint is sometimes opening the foil packets is really hard. I sometimes slit them with scissors before I go on a trip If I know I need them or take the time and dig out my knife. Also you can sometimes buy them as Aquatabs for cheaper (canada). I have a sheet in my first aid kit all the time.

Biggest advantage (other than keeping me from getting ill) has to be their taste. Or rather, complete lack of taste. Even when using one tablet for a 500ml bottle (advertised at 1 tablet per litre) there was no unpleasant taste and it just tasted like water. The tablets are nice and small too so you can easily stash a sheet somewhere in your kit for emergencies.
