Canadians are planning on finishing the Trans Canada Trail in time for their 150th Confederation Anniversary.

~10,000 km / 6,000 miles?

Anyone interested in a gentleman's agreement on who can ride from Victoria to St. John's the fastest?

July 1, 2017,  8:00am sharp at Clover Point Park, Victoria, British Columbia.

That would be quite the journey.  They've done a lot of work to that site since I've been there last.  I'm also quite amazed at how much of that route is viewable through google maps street view.  Quite a lot of highway to the far north if you took the LONG way.

Gonna need a packraft about mid-way through?

It would also appear you could extend the TD and start at the north shore of Canada?

I'm not sure about southern Canada but here in the north the 'trail' is a few sections of actual trail connected by hundreds of km of roads. More bike touring than bikepacking.

It appears to be pretty well mapped out already, wonder how much is unridable?
Who's going to put into GPS? Wink  That's take a couple long nights for sure...
