Chris or anyone in the know,
Is there a mechanism  to donate directly to Linnaea's college fund? Please advise.

I just finished The Cordilera V5 and I must say well done to Chris Bennett and all of the other contributors. It is the best yet.
If you haven't picked up a copy, do yourself a favour and grab one. And if you have bought one, buy another and donate it to a local library. Wink

Howdy all,
Sam and Katie are killing it on the tandem. Full disclosure, they are riding with a bunch of Bedrock kit and I am super proud of them. They are also incredibly nice and humble people and it was a pleasure to be a part of their journey.

I am wondering if there is an established, "record time" for tandems, and if so what is it? I did a quick search and it seems like one has not been officially established. Please correct me if I am wrong. Just trying to put things in context here.

Its just not posted anywhere.  JayP and T-Race did it in 18d and 5h with change (don't quote me) a cpl years ago.  2011 or 2010?  Kurt and Caroline had some issues during their run and weren't able to top that time, I think in 2012. Not sure of any other challengers?

The tandem record is listed under 09 results: http://tourdivide.org/2009_TD_results
KS can take time out of Eszter's 19:05 pink flag with the nearly 275 in road miles remaining, but don't know if they can manage a full 18hrs required to eclipse the Tandem record. Still an amazing ride by them, though. I hope the Tandem division sees more challengers in the near future.

Perhaps a food truck at antelope wells. Eat there and it's ok...the race is over. It could be called " antelope eat well"

TD14: Gary Tucker called in from near Boulder, WY. Scott McKinnon called in from Island Park to say he is OUT! He’s had some major mechanicals, snapping a rear D! And Kent McDonald called in from Hartsell where he’s hanging out with some other riders.

Pardon the newbie question...does anyone know how we (at Ibis) could get a picture of Jefe at or near the finish? A few photographers have sent us photos along the way, they've been great to see and share. I'm hoping there's someone there at the finish, or maybe a few people? I assume it's not quite as popular as the stadium full of people at the finish of Paris Roubaix.
Anyway, if anyone knows how we might procure something, I'd appreciate knowing. askchuck@ibiscycles.com will get our attention.
85 miles to go!

Scot -

Call Dave Mo at Rock n Roll as they have a friend of Jefe's going down to pick him up.  She should be there in time to snap a photo!  I would have gone if she didn't...  :-)  Dave Mo should be able to hook you up!

An earthquake was reported SW of Silver City about a 1/2 hour ago....  Do you think Jefe felt it?  Maybe it was him stepping it up a notch!!

Trackleaders replay function seems to have a bug in it. It plays until 01:32 a.m. on the 28th and then stops.

Does anyone know how much longer the new route into Butte took on average? On trackleaders it shows almost 80mi longer-wow. We may need an asterisk on the fastest times. That is kind of a big deal. Either way congrats to all the finishers and those that gave it a go.

So will Jefe's time be the second fastest ever for the complete route?  Couldn't find 2011 and 2012 times anywhere to compare those years.  SO impressive to be out front for so long, pushing alone and digging deep.

Not sure how you got there, but no way it's 80 miles longer.  It's only 33 miles from Basin to Butte.  Somewhere above in this thread Mathewsen had noted it's about 1.5 hours longer than the old route based on people's times taken to complete that section this year vs last.

OH. I was looking at the "route miles" on the individual pages. For example Jefe is at 2838 now. And Calvin is at 2399. I thought it was 2745 in the past for a total. So... On those numbers it is longer by over 100 at the end. Curious.

Not sure how that number is calculated. May include their actual mileage with stops, detours, etc and not a mile marker type of number?
