Anyone have any info on the Buzzard fire in the Gila?  The official report states that portions of the Continental Divide Trail are closed.  The best I can tell is this is west of the Plains of San Augustine toward Reserve.  Any info would be greatly appreciated as I am heading south from Grants on the 13th.

Going for some redemption this year, Grizzly?

I'm always looking for redemption. Smiley

Hey Scott -
Any word from Matt, is he ok?  Beginning to more wonder if he is alright rather than when will the email come out.......

Thanks.

Yep, he is fine.  We worked closely all weekend on a number of other events.  It's way overdue, but I think the links are coming soon.

Many people online now.

New fire (Meadow) has the Sapillo section of the CDT closed (on the TD route).

Any predictions on who the frontrunners will be this year?
-or- is it time to start the 2018 race discussion thread for such speculation?

Damn, with all these updates, it looks like the state of NM is on fire or under fire closures.

NoBo take note! According to this closure notice, Hwy 15 (Pinos Altos rd) is still open, so the ACA Great Divide route is available as a reasonable alternative (Hwy 15 to Hwy 35). If Hwy 15 gets closed, the most likely option from Silver City will be US 180 to Hwy 152 to Hwy 35.

A useful map is here: https://gacc.nifc.gov/swcc/predictive/intelligence/admin/google_maps/ics_209_incidents/ics_209_incidents.htm

Good afternoon Tour Divide cyclists! My wife and I own/operate the Budget Inn Express in downtown Helena, MT.    For planning purposes I thought I should let you know that Helena is 100% booked on June 16 and there are only a few rooms left on June 15.   Hope to see you all before the weekend!  We will be watching the dots.....and wish you the best on this adventure!!

Montana High Country Lodge, your go to stop, located in the Grasshopper Valley 1 mile north of Polaris, Montana wishes all of the 2018 Tour Divide Riders a safe ride all the way to the Antelope Wells or Banff if your doing a NoBo. We put up a new Tour Divide Sign this morning. We'll have the computer on and will be watching the dots pedal our way.
