Agreed, that doesn't make sense. If you go to their full history, you can see when their first ping was, almost 2 days different.

JayP at Del Norte was 11d4h. Josh was 11d1h and Brian was faster. You can see this if look at an individuals' tracking page and click on the appropriate point.

That's right, you can see elapsed time by hitting any of their individual points.  Tanadog's comparison looks correct, so it appears JayP is riding just slower than Josh thus far.

Sounds like I need to check the stopped time # -- it may not be accurate for ITTs.  Route mile per day and avg speed, etc, appear to be right on.

Heya Scott - is there a gpx or description for the fire reroutes, or is it just the info shown on trackleaders? Asking for a racer who doesn't have a working phone out there.

Andrew Kulmatiski is descending towards the basin on his ITT about 13.5 hours faster than Brian's pace. He looks to be about 10.5 hours
behind Mike Hall's record pace at that point. With the bonus Canadian time this year he is on a good run.

looking at individual histories
JP was about 7 hours faster than BL to Salida
pick a point for for an individual and it tells how long ago it pinged
so for JP add 46 hours to the ping time to compare to BL and others

Two ITT'ers arrived into Ovando this afternoon: Steve Nicol-Smith 51 and John White 54 both of England. The made it here in 6 days and for Steve, that was enough. So after a hot shower at the BCC the Ovando River Shuttles will become for one hour the Ovando Missoula Airport shuttles; taking Steve to a location to plan his route home. John in the meantime, will "carry on" into Lincoln on his own. Safe travels to you both!

Man looking at the fire boundaries in the Gila makes me nervous for Brian and the other front runners. Not a lot of options due to so many fires burning, most of the fire perimeters are right on or really close to the course and alt routes. The heat down here isn't going to make it easier on any of the parties out in the Gila. Here's to all the riders staying hydrated and safe out in the southwest.

Stefan is out! It looks like cooked wheel bearings and according to FB he doesn't have enough time to fix them, finish and catch his flight home. What a shame as he was having a stellar race, what with his day one issues.

Too bad he has a flight to catch.
I'm curious about what people outside the US do for flights. Do most people book a flight back or just plan on getting something when they're done?
When I attempted way back in 2013 I was glad I had no flight home booked, I didn't want that extra pressure of a deadline, who knows what's going to happen!
I scratched in Montana with a torn cartilage and was glad to have the freedom of flying home whenever and from where ever was easiest.

I flew into Alberta - shuttle over to start a few days before - rode down - flew out of Phoenix.

I took 5 weeks total of work (unpaid) knowing I'd be three weeks en route. Time before to get over jetlag (with some pre acclimation before I left) then took the time after as a holiday with my wife.

University was happy to let me take time off and not have to pay me Smiley

5 weeks is nice, I guess if you have the time  it makes things easier.
I'm thinking of attempting again next year and reckon I can get at least 4 weeks off paid, maybe a little more, hopefully the ride won't take any more than 3. But I might go NoBo to make extraction a little easier.

Sometimes a little bit extra pressure isn't that bad. It prevent you from puffering through the landscape.

I had a wife turning up on the 18 day mark expecting a holiday in Utah. I did not have the last two weeks as puffer time Wink
