I'm betting that Josh Kato dropped his SPOT tracker when he was climbing the wall. If so, we might be able to see him come through the border webcam with Ben.

Ah, I'm wrong. Looks like he turned it on again at the border.

I wonder which Red Meadows Pass will turn out this year. The picturesque 2015 version or its 2014 evil twin..

Based on Ben Steurbaut's dots, I'm guessing Red Meadow Pass might look a little like the 2014 version.

I'm holding back sharing evidence of 2011's version - it looks as if there's icebergs floating on the lake itself! I DO remember curling up under a large tree to sleep while it started snowing. I was so happy to get into town, and the people of Whitefish proved to be most inviting community (although I heard there may be a weirdo living among them...).

Would love to see the 2011 version Justin. You were the only one to see it IIRC?

Morning light in Whitefish (according to the webcams) reveals lots of clouds.  There is no precipitation in the area right now, but there was some rain/snow mix in the Richmond Peak area last night.  It didn't appear to fall directly on the route, but I didn't watch the entire evening. Smiley

I'm guessing we'll know the initial conditions of that section sometime today.

Lael Wilcox's ITT dot leads the riders by ~40 miles.  Mike Hall's spirit looks to be about 100 miles out...I think it's pretty safe to say his record will stand for this year.

Webcam stalking is a lot of fun though a bit hit and miss. Brett S on his single speed in Eureka.

Just curious, where in the route is "the wall"? Following a friend's progress and wondering if he's past it yet.

On the map there's a big inverted U before the border.  There's a point where the rider is going southeast following the river and then swings due west.  The point where the track leaves the road and goes through the bush just before the weswtard swing is where the "wall" is.
