this is just me being wishful, but what if, NB wins...and then recovers enough to go on to and do the CTR....and wins that.......anyway back to the real drag race that is happening in the good old state of NM
Imagine jp wins again and enters the ctr.........

Going up to 92 in AW (4PM or so).  Right now the wind is out of the west 5-10, likely a little higher as the day warms up.  Water in Hachita again, it's assumed.  At least at the gas station on I10, but the hose is faster.  Whew.

He already has stated his intentions to do the CTR. I think Dylan Taylor, Mark Caminiti and perhaps Robert Orr too and Alice Drobna.

My prediction is a 9:23 pm finish time.  I have no idea what the podium will look like but the name of the bike that JayP is riding could be a sign.  I think he will dig deep and cross that finish line first, even if only by a sprint.  Kato deserves and award for his slow and steady gain over the past seven days.

Dylan's position behind the leaders has dropped by a few miles each day but he will continue to race with Alex should the need arise.  For those who followed Dylan's progress behind JP in the AZT race you'll notice the man is an animal and needs very little rest even at the end of a  grueling multi-week challenge like this.

Dylan is going for the Triple Crown Challenge this year to have his name added to that short list:

Kurt Sandiforth – 9:05:36 / 16:22:04 / 5:10:15 / Total 31:13:19 — CURRENT RECORD
Forest Baker (2013) –
Eric Foster (2013) – 10:11:15 / 23:11:50 / 6:23:00
Mark Caminiti (2014) –

Decided this morning that I am going to the finish line this afternoon.   Headed first to the gas station at I-10 and then will leapfrog the trio to the finish line.  Something I have wanted to see for the last couple of years, this year's race is too good not to figure out how to make it happen.

My heart rate is jumping, I can't follow Trackleaders today, they are all a mile apart from each, and it's such a nail bitter.

Can't forget Kurt.
that lineup will likely push each other into depths of pain that no one else would ever want to explore.

Hate to burst bubbles but I am 99% sure Neil will not be lining up for the CTR this year - he has stated that many times.

Right.  Temperature perhaps, as well.  Probably not fickle and random border patrol stops along the Lonely Highway during the day, through.  Got the photo finish camera set up yet, Lindsay?

mikepro - I am leaving Santa Fe very shortly and am heading down there! I will take plenty of photos.

Sorry should have put again in italics or bold. from the jp wins again.

Yeah I am aware he may enter ctr. Does anyone know if jp has become a full time endurence athalete? Don't know where I picked this up from. Maybe I am wrong.

Cheers.

Let's stop here to take a moment to remember Mike and Dan Moe, the two guys who ultimately started this whole thing back in 1984.  Mike was a good and inspiring friend and I dedicated my last year's ride to him (30th anniversary).  Check out this article between screen refreshes.

Skid Lids, I know.  These two were awesome.

If you cycle alongside someone along a self supported route for the final few days, and then outsprint when at the end it shows a complete lack of class and is very disrespectful to your travelling companions.

?  This is a race, and racing is as much about strategy as effort.  If you think winning races shows a lack of class, why race at all?

That quartering sidewind is turning into a headwind as they hit the pavement above Silver.
