So what if it's been said, I'm saying it again. WOW! Great riding, great racing. Great job every one and thanks for all the pics, commentary, and awesomeness! Kind of makes one  want to ride their bike! Onwards!!

It's 2.30am.  JP and NB have been sleeping in the same location for 2.5 hrs.  JK now seems to have stopped for sleep,  only half a mile behind! If he knew how close he is, he surely would be pushing on past  them.

If the current SPOT trackers are accurate (and considering JP and NB are side-by-side without either of an update in almost 3 hours, I imagine they are), then Josh is out in front by 2 miles. How he managed to slip past them in the middle of the night without waking them with his lights, I have no idea, but this is awesome.

Way to go JK! Bring it home for Washington MTBers!

I spoke to soon. He HAS overtaken them! If JK can press on to the border without sleep,  the race and the record will surely be his.

Looks like Josh might finally have stopped for a nap, right about the time Alex and Dylan have started up again.

Surely Neil and JayP will be on the road again soon.

Is it possible that JP and NB didn't notice Kato go past and Kato didn't see them either? Surely if they had all noticed each other JP and NB would have been up and at 'em or Kato would have pushed on?

If they were asleep they would have no idea. Neil and jp look to be slightly off the trail. Maybe kato doesn't realise he's two miles ahead. First on the road will probably win. However jp has shown in the past he's a classy guy regarding joint winning. I do hope a2750 mile race doesn't come down to a sprint. In 2013 3rd 4th and 5th came to a sprint. Should have all been joint 3rd.

I guess Jay and Neil are moving again and possibly all three will be joined shortly!  It has been fun lurking in this forum and watching those dots.  While I still plan on watching the race for days to come, it will be very interesting to see how this plays out today at the pointy front end.

Is the total route distance published? How far from AW are the leaders? I am blown away by this race. Exciting after 13 days and 2,600 miles! Awesome.

Perhaps Seb got a fork all sorted out and plans to rejoin the race at Del Norte with his wife Beth, she's only10 miles north of there this morning.

I think, he's waiting for his wife. Not more than 15 Miles from Del Norte. If he starts right now, he can hug her in less than 1 hour Wink

Looks like he stayed at Andy Pierce's place. Andy built my bike and does beautiful work in a welding shop that used to be a potato storage barn. http://www.ampeircecycles.com/frames/frames-2/
