Reminds me of my situation. I am in Banff but my bike is in Frankfurt. I hate airlines!!

Sounds like you need to ride Tony's bike!  icon_biggrin

Gunnar Fehlar called in to say he’s out. He doesn’t want to risk further damage to his knee.

Best of luck to all the contenders of the Tour Divide this year. You have my respect and complete jealousy. Make this a transformative adventure, and remember to reflect back on how you have changed after the ride is over.

Will be thinking of you, while on my own wanderings in the mountains this week.

And don't do anything I wouldn't do...

I may paint a line across HWY 17 at the 250 turnoff to remind SoBo TD riders to start their timers for Cjell's La Manga Challenge.

We'd all hate for someone to forget and miss out or start their time too early.  LOL

As a blue dot junky, I believe this is a bit too much for what is merely a race within an underground race, just as I believe it adds to the legend if the prize money would indeed be stolen by some bastard. After all, these racers are not beggars! Some shopkeepers told me that they easily spend tens of dollars on junk food. And now that they have been told by Saint Matthew to stay away from motel rooms, where they might be tempted by nightly company to delay an early morning start, the budget is even less strained. There are not so many challenges where staying virgin for 20+ days is believed to speed up the finishing time.

Stoked for the ride again this year, watching from the sidelines.  Hope it goes well for everyone.

Well, we're going to take measures to protect it.  It won't get stolen if I have anything to say about it.  C$ threw down.  Nobody has to bite.  However, I think it would be great if some SoBo-er rose up and shut him down.  In fact, I think it would be SO GREAT, that I am going to add a cool Benjamin to the overall prize.  The way it stands now, the winner will get all the dollars other riders put in, Mario's match and my cool Benjamin boost.  If 100 riders take the C$ La Manga challenge, it would be a $300 purse.  That wouldn't suck, now would it? Anyone that thinks it sucks doesn't have to play.  Feel free to tell C$ it was a really bad idea as you pass him going the other way.

Easy now...lets be careful how we speak of 'prizing'. 100% non-revenue status is part of what keeps these bootlegs flying below certain permit requirements. First rule of intra-race betting is don't talk about intra-race betting.

If I had say, which I don't, I'd vote that any 'take' goes to the poor Portuguese and Peruvian sheepherders who tramp the Brazos ridge (just down-route). Those guys are paid pennies per day, and probably only in credit to the company store.

Im leaving whitefish Montana on the 19th of June planning on riding the whole thing.
I may or may not ride to the Canadian border to start. Maybe hitch hike. If anyone in whitefish wants to pick me up in white fish and drop me off at roosevillle that would be awesome.

For the record, most of you should not do half of what Justin would do!

Paul Attalla called in from Columbia Falls. He reports lots of wildlife! And Bill Peschka called in from Columbia Falls. He recaps his ride and confirms about 1.5mi of snow at Red Meadow Lake.

Not knowing when Paul Attalla started, but it seems (by my math, which could be wrong) he is riding at or near record pace.

The benjamin is not a "bet."  It's a gift from me to the winner.  It has nothing to do with the TD.  It has to do with C$'s throw down. And it's supposed to be fun.  So, let's let it be that.

Your math be good.

I just added our ITTers to the leaderboard, as well as the Men's and Women's records.  So you can get a direct comparison of Paul and JP.  He's ~3 hours back as of Whitefish according to the SPOT dots.

Dude!  Thanks!  And, I'm loving all the added info and widgets: legend, map layers, splits, categories, and more.

BTW ... I don't see the Richard Ede ITT coming up on the leaderboard ...

And, maybe asking for too much here, but how about adding a separate NoBo leaderboard?  I would sure like to see how NoBo's stack up, especially during the last week of the race.  Like right now with Billy Rice - even though he's on his Yo-Yo Mission it would be nice to see his NoBo splits and projected arrival in Banff and then to be able to see other NoBo splits by comparison (like the 2 NoBo ITT's that are out there now).

Can't help you with the Garmin.  I've already spent waaaay too much time screwing with mine and I'm no better off for it yet.  At least I don't start my TD bid till 2014 which is good cause it'll likely take me that long to figure out the danged thing.

However, do tell me about that fork of yours!!!
