For some reason I'm not seeing the map or the dots on Trackleader from work or home???

Works fine with Firefox, but not IE8 for some reason.

Yep, his turn-around points in the Flathead and up the Grave Creek drainage are giving everyone yet to start a heads up on where likely snow covered the route 2 to 3 days prior to Grand Depart.

Looks like Warren turned around again, apparently just before getting to the Whitefish Divide. That's where there was considerable snow last year (about 6 miles of it) so I wonder if that's the reason why. Problem is, there's not a real alt route there, except for Highway 93 but that's a pretty busy road if I recall from the mile or so the regular route is on it.

It's only a few degrees above freezing in Fernie (at 3300 feet) and raining hard.... so it is likely snowing hard at higher elevations right now.

Divide racing weather at it's finest !!

Who's gonna pony up and provide the live feed helicopter cam for this year's race?

Snow speculation in SE BC is bang on.  Buddy just came down from work at the Fernie ski hill base and said it was snowing there.   Ski hill base is at ~1100 m.  Not sure if was snowing down to the base, but was just a bit higher.

Also, snow is reported as sticking in Elkford area.

But, nothing another 50 mm of rain or a day of sun won't take care of!

Alas, I couldn't afford any of the big names in the business, but I found an outfit out of Alberta that guarantees to put millions of flying "eyes" on the route for everyone. I think that the guy's name was Moose Kitto or something...

Better strap some snow shoes on, you might be able get some on the cheap in Banff if you hurry !,

Very best of luck to all the 2012 TD starters!
Note from the wish I had file - if you call the Holland Lake Lodge ahead of time, they'll leave the front door unlocked and you can sleep on the floor.

Notes from a TD nut (me!):

- Fixie Dave is out of Cuba and on his way to Abiquiu. The real mountains have started for him, and he's gonna spend most of his day above 9,000 ft.

- Warren seems stuck a few miles south of Eureka. Not sure what his next move's going to be.

- Kevin Greten started his ITT yesterday and seems to be rolling nicely. By the way, note to ScottM: he's not listed as an ITT on Trackleaders, but I think he should be.

- Bob Marr started his ITT this morning. His tracker seems a little weird but that's probably because he didn't turn it on right away.

Looks like Kevin G stayed at the Tobermoy (sp?) cabin last night.  Curious if Bob M will do the same tonight, and how many from tomorrow's GD will do the same.

Tomorrow's shotgun spray of blue&pink dots on a map is less than 24 hours away.  I can feel the waves of nerves and jitters emanating from Banff...

Anyone who wants to call in some pre-race info feel free. I would love to get some snow reports or weather of any importance. 888-866-4491. I'm going to try to get something out this evening.

What does the envelope icon mean on Trackleaders? I see more of that than the tent icon.

Just means there is a message associated with the point.  It can be a custom text, or just the default "OK" message.
