I have just had an Australian refuse a free Beer.

Wonder if he will be stipped of his Citizenship?

I think that might have been Mrs NH's boy racer, said farther of Miss 3yo and Mr 5yo. I've noticed he's been peddling a lot faster since his bride posted on the forum .... me thinks he would be stripped of more than his citizenship if he got caught having a self indulgent beer! nono

Are there any open businesses in Hachita?  I don't recall any but I haven't been there in a few years.  I am curious as to water sources on the last leg.  There are tanks but that is off the course.  BP guys are always quick to offer some and there are plenty of them in the area but not something one would want to count on.

In 2012 there were no open businesses in Hachita and no public sources of water that I could find. Separ was the last source of water.

Ah, You mean a picture of Mike Haul... the boy's been hauling for 14 days now... Kudo's to him for a record pace, regardless of off course, he's made quite a high mark for any followers to come down the pike.

I saw nothing open last year though people do live there so I guess you could knock on a door.  A missionary group shared the picnic tables at the park and topped us off.

The border patrol was everywhere......they stopped by our campsites.  it will be interesting to see what the new bill whoch just passed the Senate does.  One provision is doubling the border patrol, something like 20,000 more agents.

I am always a bit shy about the idea of approaching someone's door close to the border.  If you see someone outside that is a different story.  Camping south of 10 is pretty iffy in my mind.  I came across some smugglers in the Sky Mtns a little bit to the west one time and that put the fear of God in me.  Lots of strange stuff going on south of 10.

In years past, I remember discussions on guessing the finishing time of the leaders.. so even tho Mike is on the finishing stretch, what are guesses for finish time. Winds seem all over the place and speeds 12 mph to 18mph..

Low life lurkers.... no life so they hang out on forums and creep on people who are actually doing something. Can you imagine the lengths the texter had to go to to get your cell? No worries E, coward losers are everywhere. They just happened to find you. Ride On! I'm a blue dot junkie, cheering for you all the way to Antelope Springs!

Mike Hall looks to be no more than 20 minutes out.  7:55 to 8 PM and he's ready to go into recovery mode.

Yep - looks like 4-5 miles.  Think he's happy?

There are no services in Hatchita. If the post office is open you can try to scrounge a water from her but otherwise the last water is in Separ. There is a tank before Big Hatchet game refuge but its clearly marked private property, behind a locked gate and I don't think the Aeromotor was even running when we rode there in May. The BP guys on the road are awesome but they are busy and I also wouldn't rely on them. Also the Border closes at 4:00 PM  sharp and when its closed, its really closed.

Electrolytes, water and a real Mexican Burrito or three with a pitcher of margarita's are in order for Mike to get some real flavor for food south of our border, eh?

Pretty Sure Mike has touched the border gate by now.... he's done. Burst of 18+ mph at the end sprint, on the gas.
