Wow. Ten years since Mike Curiak first challenged John's `99 benchmark; 9 years of group departs. Enjoy another edition!

Good luck to all who are racing and the ITT'ers.  Hope you have great weather, great trails and no issues with the bikes or yourselves.  Thanks Matt for such a great event.  I'll be watching for sure on here as well as trackleaders (Thanks Scott).

Great weather.  Little to no snow.  Gonna be a huge social ride the first week or so.  Have fun all racers and stalkers!  Make it fast!

And looking at the pre-ride pics posted by Forrest Baker, the handlebar bag on Stappler's rig looks more like a spring roll than a sweet roll.  I didn't know seran wrap was a viable material for making bags out of.  Hope it lasts.  Wink

Get after it!

Wife of a rookie who is starting in the GD tomorrow. Having been present for most of his bike races for the last 5 years, this race will be a test of emotional fortitude for me! Hoping with all my heart that I get to pick him up in Antelope Wells! Sending wishes for safety and fun to all the racers! You are all amazing!

Just on tourdivide.org. Is there a more up to date resource? Also hoping MTBcast will be covering again this year.

Sorry if this has been asked before but with ~100 starters are resources an issue for the first week or so? Would suck rolling into a small town and the gas station being out of peanut M&Ms!

Or does that work itself out because of the pace?

Good luck to all of you guys! Looking forward to following along on the intertubes.

Nick Legan called in from Banff. He’s getting ready to head out with all the other Grand Depart’ers. He reports there’s a re-route near the beginning due to some bear activity. Yikes!

Definitely covering! I'll post call info here. You can find the Tour Divide 2013 MTBCast page here.

I'll post updates the the MTBCast FB page and on the Endurance rides and Bike packing page on FB too. On Twitter @MTBCast I'll be using the hash tag #tourdivide.

20 odd minutes and counting (I think - I am from the UK). Excitement, nerves, trepidation, confidence, doubt, eagerness - and that's just the friends and relatives! I can imagine Crazy Larry whooping everyone up for some video footage in front of the Y. Pics taken, glances exchanged ... Almost there ..

What time do they actually start?

Thanks!!

Any news on the re-route at the start? Seems a bummer to already talk about non-GC times/records and that without the interference of either fire or snow.

Nick indicated it was on the bike path. Maybe Matthew can chime in as to the impact.
