Does anyone have the total mileage now for Sobo?  Seems like Scotts gpx file had something less than 2,700?

I estimate the route is about 100 miles shorter with all of the allowed SoBo detours.  It's a rough estimate for sure, but there's no doubt it's shorter this year.

Slightly off topic, but several folks have been asking about my avatar, and an image I posted to my blog. Here's the 011 version of the image, and you can head over to Flickr to grab 011,012, and 013. 'Elemental' is all I can sum up in my head when working out how to make this happen in 013 - hence the homage to the periodic table.

A local rider and I made a run of these as stickers - I have one on the top tube of my road machine - kept me focused on a 400k brevet a few weeks ago. Feel free to use for personal, non commercial use under Creative Commons.

Kurt Refsnider called in from Birdseye. Russ McBride called in from the trail where he’d broken a pedal. He managed to find a shop with an on flat one he’s hoping holds up until he gets a replacement. Justin Simoni called in from Eureka. He recounts quite an experience riding the Flathead. And Paul Spencer called in from Lincoln. He’s having Spot issues.

Get them all here!

Hey Joe, whenver I click on one of your links I get the attached image... not sure if its something on my end, or yours. Looks like that is the address to the RSS feeds...

Clicking on the feed should send you to saving the RSS feed. Do that and then listen to them from there.

Any word on if Justin Simoni plans to go up the whitefish divide to red meadow lake?
Guess we will know in a bit!
Got to love his spirit!
... was nice to listen to his voice and hear about his "eyes-opening-experience" in flathead.
I made a donation to him some days ago, and  I don't regret this ... quite the contrary

Go ahead and stay tuned!

Yes, in google chrome. Have not tried it in Firefox. Had been working fine initially so I thought it was a problem on my end. I've been listening via the podcasts.

After you click the link, copy the address from the address bar.  Then, go to Google Reader:  http://www.google.com/reader/ .  Click the "add a subscription" button, paste in the rss address, and you will be most pleased with the result Smiley

Quote Justin Simoni June 9, 2011: "There are a TON of alternative routes because of snow, but I intend to tramp through as many as I can via snowshoes and pure, unadulterated will. And foolishness. I may be dead last, but one of the few that does the, "standard" route. We can all only collectively see what happens."

Good luck Justin!!!

What about Bob Anderson. He's off - route east of Bigfork for hours now and seems to be running around a farmhouse or whatever  icon_scratch
