This is an epic, beautiful route, about 275 miles and 50,000 feet of climbing.  It is a lot like the Colorado Trail, but not as brutal.  There are only a couple of dry spots on the route, and lots of water most places.  Thinking of a start date of either August 26, or September 2 if anyone has input.  Website and track to follow next week:

I don't want to talk about the aztr :BangHead:Aztec

I will have a website and track up next week.  Currently thinking about Aug 26, or Sept 2 for start date.  It is a challenging course with lots of singletrack, and nothing quite as bad as the ctr sergeant mesa, or the aztr mogollon rim to flag.  Also some awesome, long downhills!

After driving through the Big Horns to climb at Ten Sleep I can definitely say that area is really enticing!  I'm looking forward to seeing what the route is...

Yeah!! Looks awesome and perfect timing. If I can make it work, I will be there. How far from the Denver area to get up there?

Okay, I just finished touring the whole route and getting a reliable track. It is 250 miles, ten sleep to big horn, wy, and 40,000 feet of climbing (per Garmin, not topofusion).    Looking at a start of August 26.  Will try to get website and track up this weekend!

Denver to ten sleep is 6.5 hours.  I toured the route in 3 days and 7 hours, with a moving time of 45 hours.  Spinny gears are key.

Darn, it's not a loop huh?

I should have said: what do you do when you get to Big Horn?

Could have made it a loop, but it would not have been worthy.  How does one get back to the start of the aztr, ctr or tdr?  But seriously, if anyone really needs a ride back to the start, I can provide a lift.  Website within a few days.  If you really want to ride the route now, let me know and I will send the track.

Here is the website.  I am still working on finalizing the final 20 miles and will have the final track by about August 12th or so.  I will add more pictures to the website eventually and if you have any questions about the course please contact me.  The course is probably most similar to the CTR, with lots of rocks and routes.  Even though there is a little more climbing per mile, this course is more rideable than the ctr.  But, it is NOT an easy course.  The best gearing is probably the same or slightly easier than you would use for CTR.  Sleep system should be similar.  The weather will probably be hotter in the day and warmer at night than CTR, but it all depends on if a front is coming through.  It is about 50% single track, 15% atv trail, 15% dirt road, 15% jeep road and 5% pavement.

Best guess for a fast time? Under 2 days?

Definitely under 2 days for the mutants.  I toured it in 3 days and 7 hours, but my moving time was only 45 hours.  By comparison, I finished ctr last year in 5 days 5 hours.

I'm definitely interested. Not sure how timing will work. I probably could squeeze it in a 3 day weekend but that time of year i can't take days off.

Well, the route will always be there and makes a nice tour.  If anyone wants to tour it in the next month, let me know and I will send the track.

Stoked to try another bad-ass route!  Unfortunately the race is the same weekend as my Monarch Mind Bender but get out there some time!
