Self Supported Bikepacking route connecting the Henrys, Abajos, and La Sal Mountains.  Starting and finishing in Moab Utah, it will circumnavigate the largest peaks in these three mountain ranges.   The route will include mountain bike singletrack, motorcycle tracks, 4*4 roads, and very little pavement.   There will also  be lots of sand, along with lots of climbing.   I believe the best bike for this event will be a 29+  such as the Surly Kampus.  I would not be surprised if someone could post the fastest time on a smaller tire, but they would also walk more.   Want to ride all the sand?  Bring  a Fatbike.  But remember, you will also be doing some big climbs.

GPS file is on its way, but may not be finalized until the snow melts at the high elevations.

This years group start will be September 20th 2014.

Distance?  Elevation gain?  This sounds interesting, keep us posted!

Website is http://www.theenduranceunderground.com/moab-mountain-mashup/

On Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Endurance-Underground/268189413337679

I have a track I am working with on TopoFusion.  It is a combination of my ridden tracks, downloaded tracks and drawn tracks.  I am going to do the whole route in sections to get a more accurate track, as well as verify some of the route.  The route will change some to include the best road connections and as much singletrack as possible.   Mostly I need to go look at the sections though the Abajos and the Henrys.  I will not be able to do this until the snow melts, but I wanted to get the date out as soon as I could.

So far the track looks to be 470 miles.  This may not be accurate , but sounds about right.

Resupplies will be available at Green River, Hanksville, Hite Marina (a few miles of route) and La Sal.  So you should be able to go fairly light.

I have included the current track.  It will not open in Google Earth, but hopefully you can view it in TopoFusion.   It is missing singletrack connections north of Moab, but it should help to give you an idea of the route.

Thanks for the interest!

I've covered most of this route by bike now.   Will be puttting together a updated GPX track in the next couple week.   I'm hoping to put together a cue sheet for turns also, but no sure it will get done in time.   Lots of great riding and views out there.

I've ridden some of this stuff.  This route looks awesome!  I dig it.

Always wanted to check out the Henrys.  So far I've not been able to make it over there, but this is intriguing!  2015 perhaps, need to get a solid crew going at the shop.  Will be keeping an eye on this for sure!

I'm scheming for an Oct ITT since I had to bail on CTR this year and can't make the sept race date.  I can't wait to see the GPX! Thanks for starting this.

Hi Dean, thanks for the files, Katherine and I plan to start on the 19th instead of the 18th now.  Looks like a beautiful route!

Sorry,  there was a problem with how I saved the last files I guess.   Here are the correct files.  Please use TopoFusion for viewing files.

It seems I may be the only starter on the 20th.   It sounds like a few people are going to start on Tuesday 23rd.     I will be carrying a spot that you can see here.

Dean puts on the race, he was also the only to ride the rout this year. It's on my list just could not make it happen this year. More info can be found here... http://www.theenduranceunderground.com/moab-mountain-mashup/
