Oh the loop dream....I love Scott, always going for the loop!

I love the idea of the race, hope to make it up there one of these years.

We're looking at dropping the Crescent Lake out & back.  That would bring the total distance closer to 250 miles and make the route more loop-like.  Other than that there's not much we can do given the extremely limited road system in Alaska.

Dang it Mike, get the dozer out and build more roads! Out and backs are cool if they go someplace worthwhile

Less than 200 training days to go!!  (198 to be sure...)
Be sure to register soon.

Talked to a few folks (in cajoling their participation) - everyone is pretty amped about this race. I have to say I have lived in AK for a long time and I have never done this trip, so I too am amped. Look forward to hearing some more web chatter.

The roster http://kenai250.wordpress.com/2013-roster/ for the Kenai 250 has been updated.  We also posted cue cards (thanks Sharon!).

I received quite a number of questions about rules.  I'll keep it simple:  Self-supported, no shared gear, no outside help, obey the law.  Cellphones okay for emergency calls and music while in bivy.  You can use restaurants, stores, bike shop, hotel, camps, etc, just no pre-arrangement please.

Now, let's start the sun dance, the fresh snow we got today isn't helping!

I am bummed to be missing what will surely be a great time this summer on the Kenai.
Work situation has changed, and I will be gone all summer-

Thanks to Mike and Sharon for putting this together.

Good luck to all participants, and stay safe!

I am really looking forward to this race!

I am not very familiar with the greater Seward area - are there any stores/gas stations/etc open late that folks can re-supply at?

It sounds like a lot of fun!

Jay Cable finished first in approx. 1 day and 19 hours in quite "humid" conditions!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Stay tuned for more accurate and official results.  I'll post them here once Paul and Zach finish the race.  They have quite a ways to go but it looks like they'll finish easily within the 4 day limit.  They're strong dudes and they're probably just procrastinating from going back to work...  or perhaps walking their bikes because of a mechanical?  Who cares, they're both very respectable reasons.

A big thanks to Sharon and Michael for organizing the event, it was super fun!  Congrats to everyone who attempted it! Chuck D. was flying, as was Mark Davis.  Chuck would have finished way ahead of everyone if he didn't live in Seward.  It was dumping rain as I rode into Seward, and I know I would have bailed if I had a nice warm and dry place to crash in.

I am already looking forward to doing it again next year..
