Anymore word from Ryan?

I just sent him an email.  He was tracking well after getting new batteries in Salida, but has no points since Breck.

I also heard from Ian Altman, who lost his SPOT at Spring Creek Pass.  He's off the trail and I believe finished it up!

Keep the report and photo links coming!  They've been great so far.

Hi all - just back to the UK after the epic that was the CTR.  I have to admit that it was a step beyond what I was expecting - the heat and altitude, plus the sheer damn length of those Coloradan mountain miles :-) made it a beast of a race in every respect.   On the (very) big plus side though, it was a privilege to be on the trail with such a friendly, dedicated and well-prepared bunch of athletes - I take my hat off to everyone who toed the start-line, and am still in awe of those who racked up   some of those lead finish times.  Finally, a big thanks for Stefan for having the patience and dedication to put on the sort of low-key, under-stated event that attracts people who just love having a big outdoor adventure - it was great to be a part of it.

Great way to say it Andy_Uk! Was awesome to see some people outside the US!

Good to meet you on the trail too Eturk - we had a chat "four hills" north of Apple's, and it was great to see a friendly, enthusiastic face after I'd just trudged back up from Baldy Lake on a water-finding detour!  Congrats on your finish...

The post race write-ups and photos are a great way to extend the 'happy' CTR feeling.  Thanks for taking the time document a little bit about your journeys.  I will be revisiting this thread and the links when I am in the dark of winter.  For now I will go out and try to knock off another segment or two of the Colorado trail before the winter sets in. sigh

Also, can't help but wonder if there was a common factor that contributed to the GI issues that happened to the racers.  It seemed to happen quick in the race and to too many people.  Perhaps a dirty door handle at the trailhead loo or some other source.

I get the feeling that It was a cohesive and supportive riders out there!  I remember feeling like everyone was just isolated and less than supportive on my attempt.  Not a lot of comraderie even at the places in town as we crossed paths during fueling.  Glad to see the change.  I remember feeling as if any help/contact given between riders was viewed as breaking the rules so it seemed everyone kind of kept their distance.  After a few days I was so far behind that I never saw anyone again after Buena Vista though.
I carried your 5 pound first aid kit for a mile or two, I was`nt very supportive with my attempt at humor. That was cool to see you, you pulled off a great ride.
