Any word if it's going to be a Friday or Saturday start on Labor Day weekend? A Saturday start would be sweet!

I think I will go with Saturday, August 31st as the official date. Obviously if you want to leave Friday for an ITT, that is perfectly acceptable. Working on the website this weekend, sorry for the delay, this is me as of last week...... BangHead Lots of surgery stuff, 9 weeks of recovery.......

Sean! Ouch! I hope you recover quickly.

Saturday, Aug 31st sounds great for a start date.

As a semi-local (I visit my parents in Sacramento often), please ping me if there is something I can help you out with.

Thanks,

Forest

Hey dude, hope your recovery goes well. August 31 sounds good for a start date. Now I just gotta square it up with the boss man to make sure I can get the time off. Thanks for organizing this guy.

Nice modern kitchen, I think our house needs some updating...

Was there anything else? Oh, yes, much nicer sling than you get at the UCLA hospital - cheapo $2 one that doesn't stay in place and twists. Useless to keep the arm in place, but now I have 2 already after getting screws and plate out last week. Maybe we should start a topic on another thread.

Ouch.  I wish you a speedy recovery!  Bike crash?

Start date sounds perfect.  It's a ways out, but I'm going to try and make this happen...

One other request/suggestion for the start...can we make the start time early, like 6am?

I know that it can get quite hot climbing in the foothills and there aren't a lot of water options in some of those early sections.

Yeah, it's a 6am start in Auburn. That should get you out of the most of the heat for the first day. After that you are good to go until you return back through that last 30 miles or so. Day one should see most racers above 6500' and you stay fairly high from that point other than one low spot on the Rubicon River. Website and GPX should be up Sunday if the planets align.

Sean, thanks for the incentive. I was planning on an AZTR 750 start next month and broke my tibia/fibula in 10 places during my last military free fall jump in the service on March 1st. As of now I'm 10 weeks non weight bearing, but now you have given me an awesome goal to shoot for. I think I can be back in the saddle in a few months and I'm going to start planning away for this. This race looks like it will be awesome! I've never been to Tahoe and always wanted to see it and now I will be able to see it the best way possible on my own two wheels. Are you gonna have some water source info/map cues on the main website as the race gets closer?
