Here is my AZT 750 trip report with pics.

http://teamkaker.com/arizona-trail-race-750-ride-recap/

Forest, sounded like a good (rough) time ;-) Nice pictures too especially the one with your worn out shoes! Yikes! Did you wear them on the hike through the big ditch?

Thanks for sharing.

Actually, I wore a different pair of shoes for my canyon hike. My bike shoes got beat up by all of the HAB before I even got to the canyon. I would definitely go with different shoes. Mine weren't so great for all the HAB.

Just tuning back in after packing up and heading to Colorado for the summer.  Congrats to Sheila on the finish!  Amazing perseverance!

Congrats to everyone that finished and showed up this year.  Quite a crew, with so many good stories of triumph and tribulation.  I've tried to collect as many blog writeups as I could on the results page, but I am sure I missed some.  If you have a writeup, please post here, or drop me an email.

Results are:

http://www.topofusion.com/azt/results.php

Please let me know if you have any corrections.  If you didn't report a precise finish time, I used the leaderboard's SPOT logged time.

NEXT YEAR! Race date is April 11th for 2014!  Mark your calendars now.  Full moon is the 15th, so we should have some good night lighting.  Note I changed the start time for the 750 to 7am.  Seems like there is plenty of time to make it to Parker before the 300 start.

See everyone next April!!!

Here is a link to a slideshow I put together of scenes along the race route -- just in case you didn't get to see parts of it because of darkness.

Nice writeup. Now I understand how we were able to catch you - mechanical issues. You really do need to come out and do the Picketpost to Kelvin section during the day some time. It is spectacular.

Anyhow, don't think I posted my writeup on here yet - so here it is.

News Flash: Kurt Refsnider quietly (no SPOT tracking) took back the AZT 300 speed record this weekend, running a 'perfect' ITT on the route in 2 days, 2 hours and 20 minutes!

Just 2:20 to go, and someone will bust the 48 hour mark!  Congrats, Kurt!

Wow wow wow. This is getting crazy. This after he raced the whiskey 50 two weeks ago! What. A. Stud!

Here is part I and part II of my write up.

Yes, I am hitting up all my riding buddy's to make a trip out there. I really want to see that in daylight. I think that section of the race may have been the best!

Thanks, everyone. It was an incredible ride...everything fell into place for a change and I was able to enjoy just about every minute out there! I'll write a bit about it in the next few days, hopefully.

Wow wow wow. This is getting crazy. This after he raced the whiskey 50 two weeks ago! What. A. Stud!

It was way better doing the 300 two weeks after the Whiskey than doing the Whiskey two weeks after the 300 last year! I also had a rather forgettable race at Whiskey this time around, so I was in the mood for something big.

I was waiting for some mention of your new record here.  I thought maybe you were keeping it a secret? : ) Great job.  This one ought to last through the summer anyway but who knows.

I realize everyone's probably glued to the TD2013 channel right now but here's one more AZTR report for those who might be bored at work or whatnot: http://2sheilasrace2011.weebly.com/race-report-1-5.html

I gotta say, I have really enjoyed browsing all the other photo galleries that have been linked here. I decided I was carrying enough battery-powered weight without the camera and chose to make do with my phone. So it's been great reliving parts of the ride through all the super shots taken by others.

I also wanted say thanks to all y'all who were watching and posting up words of encouragement. I didn't have time to drop in during the race, of course, but Steve let me know there were folks here cheering me on. That is so cool. And much appreciated!

Thanks for the write up, a nice diversion from TD.

That's a common Poorwill http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Poorwill

Not sure what spring your talking about, not sure if anyone has waypoints for all of the water sources on the AZT.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the overall experience.
