Great pictures Rich. I had fun meeting you and some of the other racers in SV.
Congratulations Mark. I can't imagine slaying this beast 3 times. During the race I was thinking that I would have no good reason to do this again but time heals pain so maybe......
Great perserveriance, Shelia. I have enjoyed watching your run.
Hats off to all the finishers and to those that lined up to do battle w/ the AZTR. My only regret is not having the chance to meet you all.

You showed some unbelievable guts to find the motivation within to leave Flag twice and push on to Utah. You are a phenomenal lady.

Rich really cool photos, especially the last section of the 300. I started that section and finished early in the morning missing all tht beauty! What kind if system were you using to hold your helmet light? I think I saw a pivot of some sorts?

I looked all over the internet for a swivel mounted helmet light holder and found nothing. I fashioned the one pictured from some spare rear reflector mounts. It worked great BUT even being a little guy I finally snagged it on a tree branch and it broke off. It flung back so far on the trail I had difficulty finding it! I fixed it but later on I did the same thing and it broke for good.
I don't know why someone doesn't make a commercially available one? Last year during the tour divide I had a fixed mount system but it never seemed to be aimed the right way. It is nice to swivel it for looking at your gps, or seeing further down the trail or for off the bike camp setup. I like the system so much I will rebuild it now that I am home.

I like this one and use it for all tours with one of my two Fenix lights (and with the original Diablo for local evening/night rides).
http://www.exposurelights.com/product/000040/helmet-bracket/
The diameter is fixed, so it only fits a few lights aside from the original, but all the ones I need. Pivots easily with one hand, but stays firm whereever you point it.

Thanks Roland! More low profile than my homemade unit. One could always tape a different diameter light to it as well.

First off, big congrats to all of the 750 finishers.

I was hoping I could get some trail intel from one (or all) of you 750 finishers. My question is, how much snow was was covering the AZT singletrack on the Kaibab Plateau near the North Rim? I ask this because I'm headed up there in a couple of weeks to put some miles in.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Just got home and had some time to look at the GPS file to figure out my actual depart time from Parker Lake. Scott, put me down for 2 days 23 hours 4 minutes thanks.
