Thanks Addy. This year 300 and 750 riders will be scored separately on the race flow, leaderboard, elevation plot, etc, too. Pretty stoked to finally have that feature for the AZTR. Cjell might have been hosed by his late start -- he may have been counting on resupply in Patagonia/Sonoita, but missed it. Still, the slower you can go and the more rest you can get early.... the better, sometimes. |

Is it safe to leave a vehicle parked at the Picketpost TH or would it be better to find a spot in Superior and ride to PP to catch the shuttle? I am not fast and will take 4-5 days to complete the 300 route so I'm concerned about leaving my vehicle there that long. What do most people do?

I've left my car at Picketpost numerous times for overnight outings including the 300 (4 days). I'd feel safer leaving a car there than in Superior for sure. |

Excellent question Jeff, we were planning to do the same thing, so I'll be interested in seeing the response from folks in the know. Guessing we'll leave it in the desert. Not sure why Superior would be any safer... Ohboyohboyohboy! Getting pretty excited! |

Starting so bo 300 from pkl post this morning
Rode gold canyon trails yesterday very scenic and worth it
Can u recommend a shop for a great and quick wheel rebuild in Tucson
Need more spoke tension n therefore new nipples
Also need someone in Tucson who can download gpx track onto my gps map 60csx I don't have cable and even though rode gold canyon yestersay it's impossible to find right side road start without waypoints

Question re: trackleaders. I'm looking at Cjell's little blue dot on the elevation graph and it goes from hovering above the terrain to now showing him deep underground on Lemmon. Weird.

Fairwheel helped me out on short notice with a blown brake lever the day before the race last year. Arizona Cyclist had a bunch of great people in there as well. Bikepacker minded shop with Dejay's Tour Divide bike hanging from the ceiling. I'd call either of them again for sure. |

Got you online, taprider, so we can follow you Sobo. If you hurry I am 'scamping' just a mile off the AZT in the Rincon Valley and can load your track. Not sure where I'll be after that, but you should be able to find someone in Tucson proper to help. Scott,

He must be on the tunnel route! Shouldn't be doing that. Sometimes it gets a little goofy after doing some zooming / panning on the profile. If you hit the reset button on the profile button itself, it should correct. Let me know if you keep noticing it. Thx. |

Been riding most of the stuff from Marshall lake to Snowbowl and trails are drying out nicely...actually downright dusty until yesterday...still a few moist spots in the trees/shade on the climb out of walnut canyon to Sams Club
Going to try to ride/hike over the peaks this weekend and will report on the trail conditions...

Watching CM and Rod this evening as I get some work done while the kids sleep.
CM is still plugging along at 11:15pm MST. Good on ya! I plan on riding late into the night in the 300 this year...just hope I can live up to it.
How cold does it really get down there in the desert anyway...this time of year? I assuming 40, or 30's...maybe even less on Mt Lemmon? Is that close to the ballpark?

I was out in reddington yesterday, Chased the 750 riders tire marks for awhile. The trail is in great shape, the wild flowers are in full bloom, and the tanks are full, with some of the washes running.

From my understanding, pavement stretch from north rim to Jacobs Lake is a green light for the race route, yes a bit less adventure, but no doubt faster. Looking at past trackleaders pages it looks as though Rt. 67 is the proper alt. route from the "official .gpx" Can anyone confirm this? Also, are there any other sections like this I may have missed in discussions (I saw the new optional singletrack discussion )

Correct on AZ67 from North Rim to Jacob Lake. There are other snow detours, but unless some silly storm blows in, I highly doubt those would be necessary. Last I heard, there were only patches of snow on the north side of Humphrey's Peak near Snowbowl/Flagstaff. There are a bunch of downed trees on that stretch, hopefully someone will get up there with a chainsaw soon!!!

I would not expect the downed trees to be removed by the time the 750 racers get there. You may run into some on the Mormon Lake sections too. The riding there is pretty sweet on the Ease and West end of the lake. The pavement coming out of the canyon is just fine. Its beautiful and your legs will be sore and tired Many will enjoy pavement. Also I would estimate this is one of the sections with the most wild animals on the entire route. I did a ride there a couple years ago where I saw an obscene amount of wildlife the first hour of my ride. Cool. After the pavement when you get back on single track you have awesome riding. Many comment on how spectacular the last 25 miles are. It may be harder to enjoy if you are suffering. Does anyone know the phone number of the shuttle service that was offerring rides to the start from Picketpost?  ? |
