Still at least 10 more out there.  I think Fiona Massey and Paul horabin stayed on course at Mormon lake, too.  Mike debernardo is pushing for 3rd but has slowed considerably...I know how that feels.  All these riders are kicking ass!

what happened to Jason Shearer and Dan Holmes?

I believe Dan's bike broke on Highline. Jason had a crash early on and it reared it's ugly head near Pine with a swollen knee. He toughed it out another couple of days. They were both having fantastic rides.

Great racing to those finished, those scratched, and those still out there. I was bummed to abandon but didn't feel too confident in the duct taped frame idea thrown my way. Does anybody have plans to be back at parker canyon trailhead?  David collins lost his garmin 25 right at the start. It was recovered and left on the sign post. We were up in Phoenix and flying out so had no plans to go back. I'd be happy send postage money if anyone has plans to be down there and would be willing to ship it to me. I'll take it to him if so.

Was out at Parker today and  picked up the Garmin. Message me your address and I will send it out on Monday.

Ron Thompson is no doubt one of the toughest out there!  :icon_salut:Maybe he will get a break this year and not have to endure another blizzard on the North Rim.  congrats to Justin and El Freako. Excited to see the Singlespeed record fall. Will it just be a matter of time before a singlespeed sets the record?

With Alice Drobna on course today, starting her 750 ITT, it may just happen sooner than later!  Jeff better not get too comfortable with his newly minted record.

There is a history of people snatching records in later ITTs in this race (not that I know anything about that).  As the saying goes: All's fair in love and bikepacking records.

Congrats to Justin and Jeff -- solid rides!

Also congrats to Derrick Perrin on wrapping up the 300 last night for a finish time of 8 days, 10 hours.  That's some serious stick-to-it-ness, in his second attempt at the route.

Big push by Brett last night to reach the North Rim. Mike should have a nice ride today wrapping things up.

Mike's almost in!  Jeff and Rhino got out early from Phantom and are making good time towards the big climb.

Jeff and Rhino may have been the first to get permits to camp.  It was good to hear that they were granted permits (instead of being told 'NO').  At the last minute a ranger ran out to tell them about the road closure and that they would have to *walk* their bikes out of the park (!).   This is all per Nancy, so third hand, at best.

Still, at least there's a fully legal option.

Brett should be wrapping up pretty quick here. Looks like he'll be about a day faster than he was last year and on Single Speed! Get it Brett!

What's up with Jenny's spot? Batteries? Forgot to turn it back on? I would have expected her to be on the nth rim by now.

Congrats Brett!

More style points to Ron Thompson for staying on route and not taking the snow detour around snobowl.  Jenny graham's spot hasn't pinged for over 17 hours.  The list of people who scratched is looong- -almost 60.  Great work by all the finishers and those getting close!
