It was hot and sandy last year.... I am sure we will hear why later.

Go Guy and Stan!

It was hot and sandy a month ago also. Kinda par for the course.

Those front guys are motoring. Impressive.
Is Guy on some secret singletrack? Whats up with his spot?

It does kind of look like Guy went up a side canyon and then started to backtrack?  Hope not - he has ridden Fish Creek before.

Not sure who else is watching this but the race is on.  Eddie O'Dea is flying but has not slept.  Jay P. is about 20 miles behind and has not slept.  Guy is catching and about 30 miles back of Eddie but he slept 4-6 hours.  Eddie is about to hit the uphill and singletrack after the roads through town. Guy just hit the roads.  Should be fun to watch today!

I would not like having JP behind me with all that climbing left. It's going to be interesting. Are they doing record time? It looks like it.

My money is on Guy he is the only one to get any sleep.  He is also on home turf.  They are on record pace.  Looks like someone might finish sub 2 days. Amazing how fast they are going!

Go Guy!

My friend Sam Johnstone is from my hometown of Julian. This is his first ever bikepacking race and he is doing great!! He kicks my butt all the time by a long shot. Hopefully he can break 3 days. He is an old fart at 56. Go Coyote Sam!! thumbsup

Looks like JP has some competition this year. I know Guy Sutton and he is a very strong rider but this is his first bikepack race that I know of.

Will JP pull some more magic out of his bike shorts to take the win?

Good luck to all. It is a fun course.

Rich, frankly anyone who made it up Fish Creek this year in the heat is doing great.  Heard it was much harder this year.  By the way, awesome riding on the AZTR!  Can't believe how strong you are.

holy meltdown batman, Eddie O is on fire. Once he clears this last section to Sunrise market he'll be tough to catch. (If other factors don't stop him).

Sidenote to Rich- great ride on the AZT , way to push yourself!

Looks like Eddie will be in by midnight. He's putting in a 40hr work week in just over a day and a half.
The rest of the field moving into SD are pushing a great pace also. Lots of good racing to enjoy.

Man Watching the dots is addicting, Sort of wish I was out there again this year but I will console myself by riding the last half home from Idyllwild next weekend after Idyllwild spring challenge.

I saw that, but I don't see results.  Maybe they are there and I'm just not finding them.

Anyway, I guess the Eddie guy won. Seeet.  Curious about 2nd and 3rd.

Finishing under 48 hours on this course is amazing.  They did it at almost 10mph average!  Congrats to all finishers!

Erick Lord finished last night shortly before 10pm!

Way to go!

Great job to everyone who's already finished and to all of the riders still rolling out there.
