I was just checking the results from '08...wasn't it decided last year that Shelman took the correct route when trying to track down Ethan?  Just wondering about the asterisk under the results.

Calls overnight: Marshal Bird and Robb Kranz both called in from Buena Vista! Good to hear Marshal's out of that funk and moving along!

This morning:
Chris Neumann called in from Buena Vista. He was about ready to pull the plug last night but is feeling better this morning!

Kevin Montgomery called in. He crashed hard heading down into BV. Banged his knees up. He also went off route so he may be relegated. He ran into some zoned-out, possibly tripping hiker giving Kevin the "Jeff Kirby Award" for this year’s CTR!

As far as I know Shelman's incorrect route last year was not Junction Creek at the end but where to start the detour near Cochopeta Pass. It was essentially his decision to "take the *" so I'd consider that accurate. Like Owen's accidental mistake last year, clearly there was no motive for it, just a screw up.

Looks like he's well on his way to erasing that and then some this year!

OUT:
Lee Blackwell called in from Leadville. He’s pulling the plug as he spent the night in his own house. Must…resist…home! Greg Bachman has injured his hand and is pulling out. He’s having a hard time with it and there’s some swelling. Take care of yourself, Greg!

More calls:
Tegan Davis called in from Buena Vista. This call is a little muffled. Rob Kranz called from BV where's he's hanging back for a bit.

Dave Nice just called in from BV. He's nursing a bad pinky and had a seizure but he's planning to keep plugging! Go Dave! Mark Caminiti also called in from BV.

Okay, so this is technically before Noon where they are but Marshal Bird called in from Princeton Hot Springs. He was with Max Morris, Rich Otten, and one of the Steves and Kevin Montgomery was pulling in too!

You can tell the sections Owen is on is SLOW coming, averaging 11,000 feet for a days ride I think?  I am betting its going to be a big surprise for many incoming. Anxious to see the spots then. Way to go Owen!

I am Robb's father.  He just arrived at the Salida hospital.  I have not spoken to him yet.

The Split Chart is putting Own at a 3:16 finish time!

http://www.trackleaders.com/spot/ctr/tracker-ctr-spec.php

it's interesting to watch the projections chart estimates spike and fall based on avg speed. it's now at four days for owen and likely to spike again considering he will be required to do some night riding to make Junction creek by 6am. it's doable, though.

joining (er, forging) the sub-4 club would be the ultimate!

It's terrible to hear about Robb.  I attempted the Trans Georgia route with him last month and he was psyched about this one.  I wish him the best.  Good luck and stay safe to the rest of those out there.

I posted Robb's call from the Salida hospital. We also have some family well wishes from Cat Morrison’s sister and David Goldberg’s son who's apparently a fan of the Rocky theme!

Kara,
Send Robb our best and healing vibes!

Todd Johnson is also out with a bad tooth. He’s in Salida to have it checked out.

Sorry to hear about Rob. We shared his hotel at the start. Does Rob need any help with logistics? his car is in Denver, if I don't go back out maybe I can be helpful, I hope he is not too bad off.

I'm in Leadville getting my knee rested and generally getting myself back together.

In case I can be helpful to Rob,  520 904 2314 cell

Is that you Lee?  It was great to watch you ride.  I wish I could have been there with you. Sad
