Hi all!

I'm in the very early stages of planning a bikepacking trip from the UK, through France, to Switzerland (Kandersteg, Switzerland, specifically). This is a solo adventure for charity , though I am open to having a partner if anyone is interested! This will be in June next year, for foodkind.org, a charitable organisation which provides food to refugee camps in Greece.
The entire trip will likely be approximately 700 miles.

For obvious reasons, I don't want to spend a lot of time on major roads, however, this is the first time I have planned such an adventure! Is anyone aware of some good routes that would lead me from the Northeast corner of France Southeast to Switzerland? Or indeed any nice routes through Switzerland, to go from the Northern tip south to the middle of the country to Kandersteg (just south of Frutigen)?
Also, any advice you can offer to a beginner bikepacker would be highly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Luke

Regarding routes through France to Basel and Kandersteg, there are several options.
Eurovelo 5 goes from London to Calais and over Brussels and Luxemburg towards Basel.
If you like a more quiet and direct route with a theme, take the WW-1 Frontier route, that runs from Nieuwpoort (near Calais) over Reims and Verdun to Basel. There is a dutch guide that describes this route in detail.
From Basel to Kandersteg you can follow a combination of Swiss Fernradwege (long-distance cycle routes) or make a more direct cycle route using Google Maps.

I live outside of Zürich and have been using the maps from here to plan:

https://map.schweizmobil.ch/?lang=en&photos=yes&bgLayer=pk&logo=yes&season=summer&resolution=250&E=2631750&N=1189000&layers=Veloland%2CMountainbikeland

Layers for cycling, MTB, hiking, etc. There is also a phone app. You can draw and download routes of you sign up for the paid service - might be worth it for planning.
