May I suggest an additional field in the Routes matrix:
Avg climbing feet per 100 miles.  (in practice, probably useless as an on-the-ground metric, but at least a relative gauge of amount of climbing involved between routes).

Thanks

I think this is a good idea.  Perhaps just climbing feet per mile.  You can compute it based on the entries in the table right now, but it's a interesting one to have there.

Thanks.

Per mile, per 100 mile, easy to move decimal point!

As an east coaster, I was never really concerned about the climbing feet.  But in reviewing the published routes, I started wondering how east coast routes stack up (so to speak) against the west.  We don't have the high 10K+ elevations to contend with, but a route I'm researching (paved/dirt/rail trail/single track) came in around  12,000' climbing feet per 100 miles, which looks to be respectable.
