Hello, wanted to share my latest creation with the community here.  This is a route that took nearly four months of effort to assemble, then another three months to ride.  It covers a large portion of the Mojave Desert and Great Basin ranging from sea level to over 10,000 ft... while crossing the most remote trails the Southwestern USA has to offer.  80% off pavement and far, far away from traffic.

The timing window is a bit tricky, I set out on Feb. 20th and finished May 20th.  Temperatures in Death Valley from March to November can be brutal.  Utah is best during the dry season April to June, however you might be encountering snow above 9,000 ft.

Expect to carry 10+ litres of water.

Backroads in the Mojave Desert are very sandy.  I was using 4.8" tires at 3 psi to stay afloat.  Utah has a few sandy sections but not as difficult.  Tubeless recommended.

Anyways here is the route:

It is a lot of back and fourth.  A few times I looked back to see the camera blown over by the wind  angry4 and usually if it involves going down a hill I just shoot a panoramic instead.

ForestyForest also makes a really good water bladder carrier that straps on to your bar bag.  I just used one on the Camino Del Diablo and it is outstanding.  There are videos on it on his youtube channel.

Hello,

I've really enjoyed your bikepacking videos. Thanks so much for sharing!!! I'm thinking of giving your Western Renegade Route a whirl, or at least part of it.

But I don't understand how to download the google map with the waypoints for offline use. I think they'd come in handy, to say the least. Any tips? Thanks
