I was studying the GDMBR maps and noticed it might be possible to continue along the North Fork Flathead River in Canada into the United States instead of riding over to Rooseville.  Anybody taken this alternate route?  Is this a legal border crossing?  Thanks!

that is the site of the old crossing called trail creek,  now definitely not a legal crossing. I don't believe i would risk that crossing, large fine at a minimum if caught. If you want an alternate crossing you could turn left to akamina pass and into waterton national park then you would go south through chief mountain customs and could ride the going to the sun road from east to west. This route would be quite a bit more scenic than the official route and you could use back roads to columbia falls to rejoin the main route.
