The Cuban backcountry loop is a cool ride close to Albuquerque.

This is another great 24 hour overnight of bikepacking in New Mexico's Jemez mountains just north of Albuquerque.  Again, so as not to give a full write up here, please check out our trip at southwestbackcountry.blogspot.com.  There are several good blogs about riding in this area, but if you have questions, just let us know and we'll try to help.

If you haven't checked out New Mexico's endurance  series, do so.  It's a great resource for long rides that most of us wouldn't do in a day, and make great bikepacking trips. Or at least are a good place to begin.New Mexico has some great riding.  A great place to look for established rides is the
New Mexico endurance series:

This website is the local racing organization, which produces rides up to 100 or more miles, and posts them.

We hope to help fill in some of the gaps by posting some of our rides, so others can ask questions, etc.
