Getting bikes around the Grand Canyon (AZT)

 I spoke with trans-canyon shuttle and they will ferry our bikes from the north rim to the south rim for $50, they have no place to stash our bikes for the 2 days we'll be hiking the canyon. I called Bright Angel Lodge but they too have no secure storage available.
I'd really prefer not to have to hike the Cyn with my bike on my back.
Any ideas?

That's lame.  They probably just don't want to be responsible for them.

You might try giving someone at the north rim a call.  They've been pretty accommodating in the past.  They let us sleep and eat at the EDR (employee dining room).  Course that was when we were already there.  Sometimes it makes a big difference to actually be there, arriving by bike.

You might be able to ask around and find someone to hold onto them on the S. Rim once you are there.  It seems like someone offered to do that for us while we were there.

Not very helpful, I know.  It's a pain.  Please let us know if you figure anything out.  I think most people have had friends shuttle their bikes.

Is there a post office near where you are trying to go?  If there is you can ship it there via General Delivery and then pick it up at your convenience.

Well to that end it looks like we have found some Flag residents that will be willing to ferry our bikes around the canyon and camp with them for a couple of day while we hike. Wooohoooo! may can't come soon enough.

There are post offices at both the South and the North Rim, so this is a possibility.  It'd be expensive and a pain (boxing it all up), but not a bad thing to have as a last resort should nothing materialize once you get there.

Bright Angel lodge has secure storage.  Ive stored suppies in what they call the Bellmens Closet a couple of times.   Last time I took rim to rim tours they let me leave my bike in the closet overnight were they picked it up the next day and meet me on the north rim.
They even said they would lock it up somewhere if I couldnt meet them.  Rim to Rim was great to work with.  Otherwise if you need someone from flag let me know.
