I ordered a Viscacha a few weeks ago and can tell it's going to be fabulous! but the more I think about it the more I'm thinking I might have been better off with a Terrapin - The drybag would provide a more waterproof clothes storage and the ability to bring a bag of clothes easily to the tent. Has anyone used both? any preferences?  Do folks who use the Viscacha line it with a dry bag?

Headed out on the IHSMBL this summer and want to get my systems dialed in!

I have both and use them both.  The Viscacha has a bit more volume.  The Terrapin is heavier.  Terrapin is a bit easier to load up since you do it on the ground instead of on the bike.  When packing the Viscacha i do put things into waterproof bags, not one big one but usually a few smaller ones.  I often use a plastic grocery bags for this.  When packing my sleeping bag it is usually in a waterproof bivy so no need for another layer of waterproofing, if the outside of the bivy gets a tiny bit wet no big deal.  I like both bags very much, you can't really go wrong either way.

I haven't used a Terrapin . When I bought my Visacha, I got the fitted dry bag that Revalate offered. I just pull it out to bring it in my tent. No matter how full I pack it, it slides back in easily. Very slick setup.

Get both. Then test them to suit YOUR setup. Two very different products with strengths and weaknesses.

I use a vischaca with a couple drybags inside: plastic shopping in the bottom and a granite gear uberlight for the rest. I take the whole seatbag off the bike when I camp as I use it and other bags under my feet (use a 4' sleeping pad). Not as quick and convenient as the terrapin I suppose but I have no trouble getting it on and off each day.

I tested my Viscacha in the shower with paper towels inside.  Sprayed it for 10min without any issues.  It is "rubberized" inside so it appears to be built like a drybag.  Even so, I put my sleeping bag/stuff sack into a grocery sack to ensure no problems.  Once I got the packing/system down, I didn't experience any issues.
