I'm guessing that I'm not the only one out there that's frustrated with the lack of quality in tire pumps. Not floor pumps, but the one you carry on your bike. I've searched the posts but so far don't se much. Comparatively they are outrageously expensive...and my experience is that a higher cost does not equal better quality. I'm tired of walking to find air and/or calling for help. I would welcome other's comments. Do you have a great RELIABLE pump? I recently discovered a combo pump made by Biking My Way that somehow switches from volume to pressure so you can pump both your shocks and your tires. Most of the reviews seem positive with the exception of some find the gauge unreliable. Reviews are sometimes as reliable as the pumps, so I would like to hear if anyone has experience with this pump...or any that works!

Topeak, the morphs work quite well, having a flip down foot. Blackburn Mammoth too is pretty durable. Both these are rebuildable.

I've got one of these:

After breaking a valve stem off my spare tube in the pissing cold January rain on a local ride and having to walk longer than I wanted to in said conditions I wanted something with a hose. The Lezyne works well enough for my applications.

Lezyne for me.  I've got one like Addy posted above, as well as the high volume Micro Floor Drive.  The Micro Floor Drive is bigger, but still comes with the ability to mount between a bottle cage and the bike, like the Alloy Drive.  Both are going on a couple years old, and both still work well enogh for what they are - small pumps.  Just be careful how you're sitting on/near the trail if you get a flat - with the whole wheel in my lap, and my back to any on-comers, it looks like I could be doing something else, if you catch my drift.  Don't want to go startling anybody out there.  Wink

Good luck.

I have a Topeak Morph Road pump on my MTB, yet to use it but there JIK. I did deflate a tire then use the pump to fill it back up. Was a great workout, LOL!

I also carry three CO2 carts, but always have the pump as well.

Hi,
I'd second the  recs for the Lezyne Alloy Drive- longer model.  It has held up well for many miles- used it a lot.  The hose saves breaking stems -PITA.  Solid construction.
The hose also allows you to brace pump against the seat stay for more umph while pumping.    Others who have used it think it is fast for its size.

Cheers,
Jay
