Hey folks, new to forum, new to bikepacking.

What I've got so far:
Revelate Terrapin Seatbag
Revelate Ranger Frame bag (Large)
Surley Nice Front Rack w x2 Arkel 25L roll top panniers.

I want somewhere to put my camera, wallet, phone, couple of snacks, sunglasses that is easy to take off the bike and carry with me, if I park and want to go hiking or walk around town.

I've been looking at the Revelate Harness and Specialized Burra Burra barbags and wondering if I could use those to carry a non-round load like a small backpack or shoulder bag carrying the above items. Has anybody ever put something that wasn't a tent/sleeping bag/soft round thing in their bar bag? I fear it won't hold them well because of the shape.

I'm running Salsa woodchippers and like to use the straight portion of the bars sometimes, so something that rides off the bars is a must.

All the other companies just seem to make hard, lunch box style barbags.

If you are already running a front rack, why not just strap something to the top of the rack instead if adding a whole other setup on the bars? You could just strap a small backpack on there with a couple of Voile straps, or get a dedicated rack trunk that mounts easily.
