Salsa Minimalist Rack Alternative

Hey all,
  Since the Salsa Minimalist Rack is no longer available with the recall, does anybody know of anything out there like that?  That is, something not as beefy as the OMM stuff.  Doesn't seem too complicated to machine/weld something like that up, right? Maybe in steel?  With a little more solid fork mount?  Anybody know of any framebuilders out there that would be keen to whip something up?

I'm pretty surprised that Salsa hasn't given it another go as far as the Minimalist rack.  I really like the idea of a small platform rack like that, and I'm sure there is a way to improve upon the issues they had(which I believe was problems with the thin metal fork bridge mount breaking...).
With that said, I just stumbled upon this guy on instagram last week and I'm thinking about contacting him, and maybe sending him my fork and having him fab up a custom small dry bag cradle type setup.  Beautiful work he does.
