i am looking for info on the stagecoach 400 for 2018. i tried contacting the Hub Cyclery both via email, contact page on their site and phone with no response.
anyone know if they are currently closed? is it gonna happen March 2018? likely March 16th?
i am coming from out of town and starting to think about logistics, etc so any advice would be appreciated.
thanks!

Looks interesting. I've routed a route from Big South Fork, TN to I-64 in KY, about 40 miles north of the Red River Gorge. The route uses some of the "choice" sections of the Sheltowee Trace that are highlighted on Mtb project and the rest uses jeep trails, forest service roads, a few other pieces of singletrack, and a very little bit of pavement. I'm not sure what I'm getting into but I'm pretty excited about checking it out. All in all, its about ~230 miles one way.
I'll let you know how it goes.
i did the thru ride with the OP and fwiw if i was going to do another ride of "choice" sections of the sheltowee i wouldn't ride anything south of hwy 27 between Flat Rock and Whitley City. sure, there are a few sections that are decent before that but the net-net of it isn't unless you want to do ALOT of hiking and dragging your bike over boulders. if you are looking to do ~230 miles Jim and I would both strongly suggest you do the 230 miles ending (or starting) at the northern terminus and cutting off the southern most stuff. ymmv if you have the route worked out to avoid the worst sections but if thats the case there won't be much trail riding left. as a general statement its vastly more rideable and enjoyable when you get near and cross over I75 heading north and even then some sections are iffy. no matter what section(s) you ride... to enjoy the sheltowee, you need to go in with the mentality is that its all an adventure and hiking/carrying your bike is part of it.

Canadian here with some time off around the AZTR and thinking about a 300 run. Anyone coming from Phoenix that would be interested in carpooling if I flew down? I'd pay all the gas and snacks for getting a ride to/from the 300.
i am likely going to be dropping a car at the end of the 750 and driving another car down to the start and will probably have room for 1 person (maybe 2) with gear. it might make the most sense to see if any 750ers want to jump in first Vik but if no one does i could probably get you to the start.

Forums / Classifieds / FS: Seatbag & Small Full Suspension Frame Bag

on: July 05, 2016, 05:01:47 AM

For Sale:
Alpkit Koala Seatbag in overall very good condition. Very light bag. One tiny hole in the VX21 on the top and some superficial tire rub on the underside. See pics.
Didn't quite have the needed rear tire clearance so moved to rack system. $50US shipped Canada or US.
DIY frame bag for small full suspension frame. Will fit a frame with a shock running parallel to the top tube. Very well made (by someone who has made a dozen bags) and in excellent condition. Make the most of what little space you have! Worked fantastic but sold the bike - SOLD
Can take more pics if needed. Thanks for looking.

Forums / Question and Answer / Re: Thule Pack n Pedal Tour Rack

my sig other uses the Pack and Pedal Sport version which is functionally the same except the Sport is just the deck and no bag mounts.
my comments:
- its a great alternative for small frames that dont have the tire clearance to run a seat bag like the viscacha/pika/etc. she straps a 13L dry bag to the deck effectively offering the same capacity. - its solid once mounted but i have found it does "settle" for the first few rides so you really want to bring the allen key with you on the first couple rides and tighten the mounts as they stretch or move til they find their place. - its a bitch to take off. its not the rack for you if you want to install/remove it constantly as needed. - the rack is perfect to hold lights and water bottles as well. this setup is working well (need tough and tight cages) even over rough terrain and accessing the bottles while riding is no problem - she has it mounted on her full suspension frame as low down as possible (limited by tire clearance and brake mounts) but the deck interfered with the seatpost/seat when the suspension compressed. 10 seconds on the miter saw took care of that (and made it lighter).
