Saw Jen Judge and Aaron Gulley, Outside magazine photographer and writer, respectively, in Tucson last night. Enjoying sushi and wondering why they had been training in the heat to prepare for the AZT!
Good luck to everyone!

Thanks for posting my Examiner article Scott. I try to post links on every forum, yahoo and google group I can think of but forgot this one.

I'm always happy to write about the AZ Trail and other endurance mountain bike events!

Congratulations Lynda! Way to rock the course, first woman and overall winner! I'm in total awe and admiration. Let me known when you're ready to be interviewed for Tucson Examiner.com!

I was riding out on Reddington Pass-AZTrail--Molino saddle today. Nothing but hot and steep. Hoped to see Lynda W. but I think I got there a little to early. Great to see her doing so well!. Sorry about the bad bike luck and body luck: Kurt, Marshal, Yuri. Full moon should help people keep riding a little later tonight, especially on Catalina Highway.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE racing the AZ 300 and 750 this year!  I'm especially excited to see Lynda Wallenfells in the mix.

Hey everyone, I'm out. Bailed at Saguaro Natl Park East. Legs are thrashed, mind is mush. Enjoyed riding some with Lee and Tim on Day 1 and camp out with Action Jackson and Cory on Night 1. But thanks again to Scott for the epic experience! I'll be back. With lighter stuff.

I bailed at Saguaro Natl Park East. Legs are thrashed, brain is mush, coordination skills are non-existent. Couldn't face shooting gallery of Reddington Road today. I enjoyed riding with Lee and Tim in the snow on day 1, and camping with Action Jackson and Cory night 1. Did not enjoy bull standing in the middle of the trail. Even the forest "roads" can be brutal. But thanks to Scott for the epic experience! I'll be back.

Be prepared to bake near Ripsey wash. Beware of bulls.
Ok, I know the AZ300 doesn't go over this giant hill, but we will still be feeling the heat.

I waited too long to order from Epic or Carousel bag artists, back order 10 weeks for both! Does anyone have a medium escape pod style under the saddle bag I could borrow or buy for the AZTrail 300? I really don't want to go with a rack. Trail karma will be good for you.

Re: Garmin etrex legend hcx--amazon says the weight is 2 lbs? That means the weight of the box, unit, and accessories, right? I can't imagine that the unit weighs 2 lbs. Thanks for the tip and the link, I am researching GPS units for my AZT300.

Had a great weekend on the AZ Trail, I ended up riding on Sunday from Parker Canyon Lake to Patagonia and made only two wrong turns. Read all about it here:

Looking forward to AZT300!

I'm pre-riding the AZTrail course from parker canyon to Patagonia on Saturday, March 20--anyone care to join me?
Sunday, I plan to ride the course from Box Canyon Road north for a couple hours, then back to the car.
I'll be either camping or staying with friends in Patagonia
