Unless you're a bit on the short side you'll be fine. As Alan said, right up near the Loch entrance is the shallowest..even if it looks like it's not.

Hopefully I'll make it up for the start and get the first day or so in. May work out as good prep for the Divide a few weeks later!

For anyone thinking about doing this, be prepared to suffer, but be prepared for some amazing memories and wonderful scenery. It is just beautiful.

How'd it go on the Fargo? Did you end up getting it?

Picked up the Fargo for a test ride last Thursday.... it never made it back to the shop... pretty much bought it after the first 30mins of the ride. 100% what I was looking for. Great on the long draggy rides and very capable on singletrack. Stunned.

Now I just have to pay the folks in the shop Big thanks to the gals and guy in http://www.keeppedalling.co.uk/ for trusting me to 'borrow' a brand new bike and let me ride it properly.

No options for us foreign folks with passports

I would encourage people not to do that.  Parks Canada will fine you for illegal camping and right now they are being awfully accommodating to the TD by looking the other way regarding this event.  Please be a responsible visitor.

I'm planning to take a few days before the race and ride across from Calgary. Partially to shake off the jet lag coming from Europe, partially to get used to being at altitude again, partially... well cause I can I suppose
