I've got an extra one of these that I'm not going to use, so off it goes. IMHO, this is the best 27 Plus tire out there. Probably the widest tire out there, great traction, and pretty good rolling resistance considering the size of the knobs. It's not the lightest, but you can't have everything! Asking $60 including shipping in the lower 48.

Thanks! When you get stuff laser cut, it makes sense to get more than a couple made as the cost per piece drops a lot. I may sell some in the future, but i don't have enough use on them yet. Nice design. Thanks for the photos. Looking forward to the shakedown report. It looks as if you're ready to sell some....

These are more of a Design it yourself! I drew these up and had them laser cut from Stainless steel and then bent them with a hand press at work. The idea was something like the Problem solvers Bowties. I liked the idea of the bowties, but though making them out of steel would be more durable, and they could be bent back into shape after a crash, which you can't do with aluminum. They also wrap around your cargo farther for more support. They are designed to use Voile straps like pictured. Individual mounts so you can use 2 or 3 of them, depending on you intended load. They are designed to be used with soft goods like dry bags, not bottles, which would slide down I imagine. The bag shown is 2.5 liters. I haven't done any extensive testing yet, so cannot comment on bag slippage or durability. Let me know what you guys think!

Hi all! These are an extra set that I've decided don't need to be in my parts box anymore. They are in excellent condition, barely any use, no sealant residue, and no sidewall scuffs. They were used very briefly on a commuter bike with tubes before being switched out for something more road appropriate. Asking $130 shipped in the lower 48.

This hub is 15mm thru axle, so it could be used with an adapter. The rim is also wider than your current one, this one measures 35mm inside width, is yours 25mm inside or outside width? It’s meant to be used with a Plus size tire, like 2.6 to 3” wide, but would work fine down to around a 2.3-2.4 tire.

Forums / Classifieds / FS: Waltworks / Jones 29+ bikepacker frameset
|

So I've decided to put this up for sale, as I just don't get enough use out of it and could use the funds instead. Included is the Waltworks steel frame, Jeff Jones titanium truss fork, Chris King truss fork specific headset, Niner Biocentric 83mm EBB, and seatpost collar. No, I will not separate the frame and fork, as the frame was designed for this Jones fork. Frame is a custom Waltworks steel frame with a Niner 83mm EBB. Originally designed for a Rohloff internal gear hub, so has the extended NDS Rohloff dropout as well as cable guides for the Rohloff. I didn't get along great with the Rohloff, so I sold it and set the bike up with a normal 1x11 drivetrain. Frame has a derailleur hanger but no guides for that, so I just used some Velcro wrap to run full housing. Frame will fit 29+ tires as well as 27.5x3.8, at least the smaller ones. I ran a Hodag on a Hugo rim without issue. Size is about a medium / large, I have a geometry drawing I can send to those interested. The frame is powdercoated matte black, although it's actually more like a satin finish, not quiet shiny and not quiet matte. It's a little duller where the straps were from my bags. The powder is a bit bumpy where the frontmost strap was on the top tube. I tried to get a picture, but it's a bit hard to photograph. I have some other parts still from the build I can include for extra cost, wheelset, cranks. stem, seatpost, saddle. Asking $1300, not including fees and shipping.
Frame: Waltworks, 135mm QR rear spacing for Rohloff, 83mm EBB Fork: Jones titanium truss fork, 135mm QR, front disc spacing Headset: Chris King, Jones specific Bottom Bracket: Niner Biocentric 30, spaced out to 83mm

I bought this last year and ended up going in a different direction. It is brand new with the tag still attached, never even mounted. Color is Multicam Black. For those that don't know what it is, it's a roll top bag that mounts to a set of 3 pack bosses on your frame or fork. Asking $60. Price does not include shipping, we can figure out the most economical option. New retail price is $75.00.

Like mentioned, when tubeless is working, you generally don't even notice! What kind of terrain are you riding? Trails, gravel, roads? I've also switched from Stan's to Orange seal and am happy I did. I'll never go back to a crappy, stiff, heavy, reinforced tire like a Marathon.
When adding sealant to tires, you need to make sure too really shake it ALOT to distribute the little particles that clot. Then right before you put it in, shake some more! You can also add some glitter as mention to help it seal. You know it's working when you pull your tire off and there are lots of little clumps showing where it sealed a hole.

I'm a big fan of drop bars set up this way! This is my 'Allroad' bike with BIG tire clearance, setup to be comfortable for long days in the saddle. Like you, I'm still working on the final setup, but I'm close. Most recent picture below. Bars are a bit above the saddle, but reach may be a bit short right now, so will be trying a setback post soon. Current stem is 70mm & 10 degree rise I think? Current tires are 27.5x2.35 Schwalbe Big Ones, super comfy and still fast on harder surfaces. I'm working on a second wheelset that will have Bontrager XR2 27.5x2.6 tires!
