If you are running a suspension fork there is no need for that much tire or traction.  Washboards are the most of your problems.

I am high metabolism and sweat a lot.  So I use this.  26 oz. Per hour is the max a body can absorb.  The rest gets pee'd out.  Use that rate for riding and half that for resting.  Meals are what you need.

How do you keep the bolts from shearing off?  This was the main problem for me in the 70's, 80'so and 90's.  After going to frame bags the problem disapeared.  Great looking racks btw....

Can you elaborate on the "lightweight net"?

It's not this one, but close to it.  Weighs nothing and be setup in different ways.  I just tuck it in under my mat or bivy.  Did I mention I hate mosquitoes.

Seems like they ruined another perfectly good bike.  Longer chainstays and slacker head angle.  Slow and unresponsive now.

Put 700c wheels on it

I have the largest thermos brand insulated metal thermos.  It keeps liquid hot or cold for 4-5 days.  I had it in the snow over night and liquid did not freeze.  Yes it's big and heavy.   My point is the bigger the container and insulated will do better.  All my smaller water bottle size thermos froze or could not keep liquid hot.

I carry a bivy and a lightweight net.  I can use both or either.  Options for comfort and different temps.

If you are passing by salt lake city,  my brother would love to throw a leg over that and pedal it for 30 seconds.

How long were you gone for in total?

3.5 years, but it seemed longer

Made it twice around the world, kinda.  Different routes, spent all my money, barely survived, died twice, wore out two bikes and millions of parts, lived 8 lives, changed religions 4 times, always met amazing people and seen the best scenery, had the best time!

Back in the states, catching up on stuff.  Already making plans for a new bike build with soo much first hand experience,  what works and what doesn't.   Fill me in on what I missed.  Just give me your version of the bikepacking cliff notes.

.

It does take up precious frame bag space...
That is

just strap it to your helmet and run a tube to your mouth....lol

That's a fantastic idea.  Free water from air.

It's just condensation like a air conditioner makes.  If we can hook up a cooling suit at the same time that sounds nice for hot days.

I would think the power source must be big.....

May use this as a way to generate a second usb power source?

I know nothing about it other than what is written on amazon.
Works off the chain so you have to keep pedaling to make power

Balaclava or a neck garter in combo with a beany that covers the ears or a neoprene face cover that has little holes for the mouth.

Thought I would post this usb splitter with separate on/off switches.   Better and faster than unplugging them.
