Thanks mate, it's been a long time in the planning, I'm looking forward now to next week - the race to Nome begins!

Are you documenting the race, or just out for a pedal?

Here's day 2 of ITI on the blog:

Now that the planning and building is all done, I'm starting to get excited about riding to Nome in 2016 ITI.

Here is a series of blog posts on my race from 2015, 350 mile to McGrath.

Enjoy!

Another for the Diablo, and also joystick.

I use an MSR dromedary in my full and half frame bags. Fill the bladder to near where I think the bag will take it, stuff the drom in, then drink until the zip does up. More storage in the body too!

Nice work, envious. Hope the plastic in those pedals are up to it, I know some pedal plastics are brittle at half the temps you're in.

Get both. Then test them to suit YOUR setup. Two very different products with strengths and weaknesses.

Yeah, good find. This explains a lot of what I can't put into words, about AK wilderness. I yearn for even just another second of it.

Shimano also make an inline brake quick release for their post mount road brakes, you could run this inline with your Apex brifters and triple front, then use the QR to dump to granny. Might need a bit of machining to get the drop right, but easily done IMO if you like to tinker with tools.

I ran aero bars for a while, I put a 3spd trigger on the end of the aero extension (the same tube OD as an MTB bar). Worked very well.

Then I refined my gearing even more and found I only needed a 22-34 on the front and 11-36 on back. Plenty gear range.
