There were a lot of 60+ riders in the bikpacking.com pre-ride Bike Check
Besides Hal Russel, now many are left?  Lots of dots have not moved in days
.
Not sure about how many are still racing but looks like the first 60+ rider is Steve Brigham in about 52nd place overall.

Scott, Will you be adding the 4Peaks Option to Trackleaders?  Thanks, Tom

My goal is under 10 days.

Thanks, Tom Lane

Check out the Serfa lights.  They are only brand I found that allow charging while the light is on.  I use the sine wave USB converter to keep the light topped up or charge my cell phone.  I think the Sinewave Beacon light’s battery is relatively short lived which could be an issue for a long hike-a-Bike.   Let me know if this isn’t true.

Anyone know what’s going on with the Sheila’s?  They spent the last day at BML and are now off route heading south on 80.

Donald,
Thanks for the reply.  I've now figured out where Apple is but will plan as if he isn't there.  Good advice on using a light weight backpack for that stretch.
See you next week, Tom

Excited to join the Grande Depart this year.  I'm still trying to wrap my head around the lack of resupply options from Buena Vista to Silverton.  I usually don't wear a backpack but don't see any way to load that much food on the bike.   I've picked up on some hints of a trail angel named Apple but can't find any details.  Is this on purpose to prevent including any 'angel' help in planning?  Any other suggestions?

Thanks, Tom

Once Mike sets the new record, looks like an exciting race to the finish for 2nd through 7th developing.

DP's wife: Best advice to all Blue Dot followers: Patience, Patience, Patience.  Trust that he is having the time of his life and all is well.  Of course, the other option is stop waiting for every new track update but I know how hard that is.

I don't understand how this obviously professional production with a camera crew is possible during your race.  I get the clips when you're wearing/holding the camera.  What about the rest of the clips?  Was the camera crew also on bikes but riding ahead of you to setup?  Would you then wait while they regained some time ahead of you each shot?  That would drive me nuts and must have added a day or more to your race time.

Seriously, excellent work!   Thank you for the time during the race to capture the great scenes and the post race time to put it all together.  Very enjoyable.

Thanks, Tom

My wife and Sheilar left Austin, TX a 6am to meet ST at the border.  Based on the tough going from Pie Town, they had plenty of time.
They're carrying my Spot so I can track them speeding on IH10 at 80mph.  ST has picked up the pace as she can smell the border.  Its going to be close on who get there first.

Is Como Depot following this year? Looks like Jefe passed right by there..

Listen to Brian Remlinger's last call to MTBCast.  He talks about David's dog named Banff and his hospitality but doesn't sound like he's still open for business.

We're sad in ATX to hear about Sheila R dropping out and we hope she's okay and recovers quickly.  Now that she has some company of other Texas Ladies, who knows?  Sheila TB is off on her own now but looks likes she's going to keep the 30-day pace flag company.  Those darn things never sleep though.   Wink

Go Sheila GO!!!

Great to see her head right into the big ditch and not hang out at the rim too long to think about it.  The work's not over but I'm sure she's smelling Utah.

Steve, give her a big hug from Marilyn and I.  Wish we were there with you, Tom

I've been on the spreadsheet since October and bought my ticket to Banff.  Time to make it official!  I intend to start with the Grand Depart on June 14, 2013 and finish the Tour Divide at Antelope Wells, NM.

Count me IN!
