looking at individual histories
JP was about 7 hours faster than BL to Salida
pick a point for for an individual and it tells how long ago it pinged
so for JP add 46 hours to the ping time to compare to BL and others

You gotta be kidding me - icon_biggrin icon_biggrin icon_biggrin NORTH Vancouver??? I thought just us southern boys did stuff like that!
\
Yes but I still live in the south part of North Van (south of Bad Boys Trail aka Race'n Prickly Line)

the duct tape probably would have lasted a lot longer
I just stopped riding it when I made it home and traded the bike for car repairs
the car mechanic made a splint out of an aluminum tube and epoxy and the bike is still going

https://fiberfix.com/get-fiber-fix13742603

or similar product should be available at hardware stores
just wet with water to activate resin
if the break is really bad, add tent poles or arrows as splints

or just duct tape
this repair worked for 20km of hills for a completely broken chain stay

Hey Smart A$$

so your first link's latest post is from 2016
2nd link's first post is from May 2017
3rd link's first post is June 13 2017

None of these seem to be the "best site" to actually follow the race
anyway tbmd9er said he already did searches

I thought they had to use the new High Rockies Trail due to grizzlies
and what happens when they get to the orange line through Fernie?
What is now the official route?

Hey Aaron,
How are things looking for this event this summer? The blogspot is no longer accessible. Anywhere else to find info?
Anyone else interested for this year?
Cheers!
Hey Adam
want to car pool from Vancouver?

GO GO GO Fiona and Paul
no snow reroutes for them and it looks like they are battling by Snow Bowl right now
fallen trees are probably more of a problem than snow

last year for the last 90% to 99% I was counting switchbacks, but for last 1% (99% to 100%) I had to count steps just to keep motivation
I was thinking every 3 steps = 1 m and I needed to do only 300 m, and that was on a dry trail without much in the way of stairsteps

weather report shows the rim should have been well above freezing at the coldest point last night

the data for the dots is only the horizontal distance
the last few miles feels like climbing Everest by the time you biked across the State and hiked across the canyon with a bike on your back

256  Forums / Ultra Racing / Re: North Rim closure on: March 30, 2017, 01:42:36 PM
no problem
if you start at the south rim in the morning, you will reach the closure area in the late afternoon
short nap, then proceed after 4:30 and ride out to Jacob Lake at night while the snow is crusty and frozen
257  Forums / Ultra Racing / Re: AZT 750/300 2017 Planning Thread on: March 29, 2017, 08:34:12 AM
how crusty is the snow at night?
can you stick to the regular off-highway trail and ride around the ADOT?

and again what a bummer for Dave.  Last year he was just a down wrapped burrito in the blizzard.

I heard Rhino's grandma runs a rickshaw service from the state line to Page.  If she's not there when you arrive, just wait around a couple hours...

It's very reliable. When my great grandmother did the AZT that how she did it, she mailed stuff because she wasn't tough enough to carry it from the border. But she's frail, so nobody thought any less of her accomplishments.

^lol

say you arrive late friday afternoon
you would have to wait to monday morning to get your stuff
