It's bad form to have question marks in ones finish time. So to specify, I finished with Dylan making my time 5 d 17 h and 23 m. Thanks Stefan!

So in looking at Toby's race track on the CTR site I see there is also a track for a Leadville detour. What's the deal for this year? Optional detour or are we to follow the older route thru town? I can't seem to dig up any past info on the detour.

Caught Jesse and Jefe nearing Gold Hill this morning and they were both cruising and both looked remarkably comfortable considering their pace so far. I'd say 5 minutes separated the two of them.  The climb up Georgia Pass from the West is going to be rough but hey, it's all downhill after that right?...  thumbsup

Unknown but highly stoked racer.  ?#3

That's Benjamin Gannon from Fort Collins, who is apparently spotless?  His girlfriend Teresa Garcia is also racing and is currently bombing into Silverton.

Since people are in a picture sharing type of mood.....

Ethan is just about here:

Mainly I just wanted an excuse to post the "awkward business man" photo that the bro and I took at sunrise above Bolam Pass last year.  icon_biggrin

I do love Rolling Pass.  And HDR Smiley

Ditto on Rolling Pass - I was bummed to ride up and over it last year in the dark. It was pitch black up there with no moon which made for some interesting descending!

Ethan just started up section 22. Holy crap is he flying!

Will he knock it all out tonight or bivy up high?

I for one wanted to crash in that yurt way up there when I passed it.

Anyone know whats going on with Kerkove?  icon_scratch

Makes me a little nervous to see him off route....

Oh no - looks like he's bailing down Ward Gulch Road and maybe headed towards Saguache?  He's been through Sargents before so he should know the route until atleast hwy 114.

Sections 22/23 on a clear moonlit night would be amazing.

I don't know if anybody else saw them last year, but all those sheep herds on 22/23 would be pretty trippy to run into a 2am on a full moon!

Day two, tackling fooses creek in the dark, kinda late and in the rain.

what bad asses.

Fooses in the dark might actually be a good thing. It's a hike anyway and if it's dark they can't see that final wall....err...trail to the crest.

Oh man - This is shaping up to be a interesting race!  The 4 leaders are going to turn the screws on each other I'm sure, but will they push it too hard and crack?

There is also a solid chase group forming with Kerkove, Matt Schiff, and Dan Miller-Lionberg (my homie) crushing it on a SS.

It's Dan's first foray into Ultras and he is going moderately light and pack less, so we'll see how that treats him with all the upcoming hike-a-bike.

Bummed to be missing out on all the fun this year, so I'll just have to be satiated with the armchair racing!

Wow, Ethan made it to the Janet's Cabin area in less than 18 hours!  I wonder if Jesse Jakomait dropped his spot and is up front with Ethan...

Looks like most of the pack is staying uncannily dry right now - man, I sure hope that continues throughout the night.

Dang- Janets is 18 Hours!?!?! Granted if you wanted to schwack down and sleep on the porch or something it could make a nice rain shelter!

Here is what the 2nd trail closed sign looked like as I stuffed my face while pondering what to do.

All in all, it's a darn good sign and closure for the FS and since I was riding with my bro who works for the Dilion Ranger District and is one of the folks who can write tickets for such a thing, we gladly rode the detour...

It's been said before and I'll say it again - there is no way that the experience of being out there can be replicated or accurately conveyed with words or pictures. Regardless, here's my attempt.  Damn that was awesome!!!!!

Awesome!!

I can speak to how much it blows to ride through that clay/mud. Last year Eszter and I had to carry our bikes over or around it more than a few times.

Hell of a ride - congrats!!

I was thinking of using an ultralite hammock setup for my sleep seat up--is this wise on the CTR?  I feel that I can always make it to tree line for camping which is always nicer from a wind/o2 perspective anyways but it does predicate having trees for optimum comfort (I can always crash on the ground using the tarp...).

Just a word of caution. As everybody knows beetle kill is everywhere along the route. Last summer some dude up in Summit County set up his hammock to sleep for the night and strung it between two dead trees (of decent size too from what I heard) and not just one but both snapped when he was in the hammock and they both fell on him. Messed him up fairly bad to I hear. Just be careful what you go lashing yourself up to!!
18  Forums / Classifieds / 2009 Yeti ASR on: September 14, 2010, 06:41:58 PM
2009 Yeti ASR - Medium Frame - MINT CONDITION

- The original frame cracked at the BB weld and was warrantied by Yeti, so this frame has only 2 rides on it for a total of ~5 hours of ride time. I am only selling because when the original frame cracked I built up a new bike so I haven't ridden this in over a year. It's a sick rig!

I'm asking for $2500 as it sits.

Crossmax SLR wheelset used as a race only wheelset for ~6 months - practically brand new condition
XT/XTR drivetrain with a recently replaced XTR Shadow rear der (~5 months of use)
Brand new XTR BB with 2 rides on it (same as frame)
XT brakes - recently bled and pads replaced
XT Crankset with ~6 months of riding on rings
Sram 990 cassette and 991 chain with ~ 1 month of riding on them.
Fox 32 F 100 RLC Fork - recently rebuilt w/ new seals
Fox RP23 rear shock
Full carbon rear triangle
Race Face XC Carbon bar - 1 in rise
Ergon GR2 Carbon grips
Thompson post and stem (stem is 100mm with 10 deg rise)
Tires are mounted tubeless and are a 2.1 Crossmark in the back and a 2.1 Kenda Karma in the front
Saddle is a YETI branded WTB

Overall, the bike has been taken care of very well and is a screamer of a deal compared to a new bike.

Feel free to contact me for more information or higher quality photos.

Dang - my excuse is pretty lame......Moab 24..... boo, hiss, I know, what can I say, I like 400 people group rides on sandy jeep roads.

Anywho - Not to hijack the thread, but what's the possibility of this route still being open later in the fall (late Nov.). The brother and I are looking for some touring possibilities and if I'm not mistaken, there is a detour around the high point of the route should it snow?

Wish I could make it down as it looks like a lot of fun!

He was at his last bivy along CR 50 for ~15 hours.  That's a long time to sleep even in a warm bed.  Unfortunately, to me it looks like something happened more than just running out of food.
