Even copying a .IMG file straight up didn't work for you? I assume you tried the divide one I prepared?
Maybe shoot me an email and we can avoid cluttering the thread with too much GPS stuff.
Email has been sent and thanks

Good advice, mikepro -- they have a pretty good tutorial.
Perhaps I should offer statewide .IMG file for the AZT to make it easier to load some basemaps (I already have one for the divide). You just have to copy the IMG file onto your GPS.
Sadly I did just this and still at an impasse... beating head on desk

This might be what you've already tried but if you transferred it to your gps already go Setup, Map, Map information and make sure it's enabled...
thanks and yes I did that but the map is not showing up... grr

After about three love-hate years of using an eTrex 30... Just make sure you turn on track logging in Setup > Tracks > Track Log > Record [with an option to show or not]. Somewhere there's also an option to write the recorded track to an internal memory card. I second Scott's recommendation about 'Auto' for the recording rate. Lots of eTrex setup info at this site. http://www.aukadia.net/gps/lw3_0.htmSlightly OT suggestions... To minimize GPS issues [due to corrupt GPX files or other mysterious causes], I almost always take any GPX file and resave in TopoFusion. For the big tracks that cap at 10K points, I usually resample down to 9K. Even for long events like CTR and AZT, 9K has enough resolution. For my maps, which I download from www.gpsfiledepot.com, I turn off any other state maps I am not using and only have the base map and state map I'm using turned on. These are probably knee-jerk reactions, but they seem to help with GPS freeze/hang-ups. Nothing like the stress of having GPS issues out in the middle of nowhere... And if you ever find a way to retain the color of a saved GPX track, I'd love to hear back from you. My eTrex 30 always reverts to showing the track in lavender after a reboot, no matter if I change the color on the unit itself or in the file using TopoFusion. -B Geez gps idiot here ... I am having trouble loading the aztopo map I downloaded from gpsfiledepot. I can see it on my mac and look at it in base camp but when I think I complete the load onto my gps... well it's not here. I go to configure maps and city navigator is there but no aztopo. Any advice?

Geez I am having issues loading the 300 gpx file onto my oregon. I think it's because the track is over 10k track points. I am on a Mac so Topofusion is not an option does anyone have any advice how I could split the track via base camp?
I think I have it sorted by using the reduced file from the azt300 2014 ... is there an issue using this track?
Ben

Funny you should ask. I was out with Mr. Schilling attempting to add some singletrack in far east Phoenix (Apache Junction). [Thanks for the tour and route work, John] There's great trails, killer views, and not too unreasonable routing. Stay tuned for a possible change there. It shouldn't add any significant amount of time (no more than an hour?), if it gets the nod.
I don't know of any changes for the 300.
Rookie from TeJaS here throwing my hat in the ring for the 300, and I am looking forward to sampling the desert of Az. I also have the question if the 300 gpx file listed is complete? This is my first time in an event of this nature, which of course causes some obsession over the course.

Currently using the Giro Terraduro and thus far I am pretty impressed. Going on an extended trip in the Ouachita Mountains in a couple of weeks so I will have a more thorough evaluation post trip.

Forgive if I have missed it in my searches but I was looking for a thread on the 2014 Coconino Stage Race and I have yet to turn up anything beyond past races. Is there a current thread?
Kind of a last minute thought of doing it this year and scrounging for information....
thanks in advance

So I have convinced a few of my friends that owning a Fat Bike in north Texas is not crazy and they have found out that "DAMN this is fun." Currently we are using them to explore the local shore lines of our area lakes, as Texas is in a drought we have a bit of shoreline to explore. This was our first trip together and also our first time to roll video in hopes of capturing the fun and maybe recruiting others to our direction. Credit for the video goes to Brayden the son of one of the guys, so let us know what you thinks. OODA Loop Expeditions: Thinking outside the box http://youtu.be/SrGtAYX1_00
