I'm somewhat surprised she has elected to use her 29er hardtail for the CTR instead of the fully suspended bike she demanded Walt build for her immediately after Moab, although I guess it makes sense from the perspective of being able to carry more.  Her exact words to us at Moab, somewhere around lap 6 or 7, were "please tell Walt I will sell him my firstborn child for a full suspension bike..."

When K. Monty blew out his shock during the GDR a few years ago I decided to switch to a HT. I can say unequivocally that I'm yet to have any problems with my HT covering these races from my desk.

Chris Miller called in  from Buena Vista to pull the plug. He's looking for a ride to the front range so he can pick up his car and head to Durango. If you know anyone who might can help, leave a message on the comment line and I can give you his number. I beeped it from the audio for obvious reasons.

Sorry to hear about your blisters, JK, you had a great ride goin'! I'm sure moist conditions made any healing out of the question out there. Next year!

Nathan Gallion called in saying he made it to Copper alive and got his brake fixed at Gravity Sports.

Could someone please email some suggestions on how we might determine the wherabouts and welfare of our son, Tom Komoroski.  He apparently started the race with a SPOT and has not been seen or heard from since Monday morning.  We are starting to panic and would like some help.  I am heading to Colorado tomorrow, but it is a nine hour drive and I would like to have a strategy in place to find him well before I leave.  It would be unusual for him not to check in via the podcast or with us.   

I put a message up on the call in line to see if anyone has seen him.

Mark Caminit called in from Copper Mountain waiting for Quiznos to open. And Nathan Gallion called in after crossing the ridge over looking Copper Mtn.

Update: Nathan Gallion called in  with a back brake failure as he descended down the ridge towards Copper. He’s having to use his front brake only. With any luck he can get down the ridge and into a shop for a fix.

Howdy All,

I had a bad case of saddle sores and bailed at Breck. Coasted in to Frisco for a bacon cheese burger with extra salt and a couple PBRs.  Went home and cared for my lame ass.
