My preparation and planning is different as I?m simply a fan who likes to follow along and listen in.   Sad to see things not working out.  Prayers to those who try and sorry for those who trained so hard.

Moved from Long Island back in 81’.  Lived right off exit 64. Used to be an endless network of fire roads to travel and camp along.  Not sure what’s out there now.  Good luck.

Still working on the set up for the GT.  Test ride with new brake rotors and they did great.  Backpack was too heavy, but I'm not a fan of frame bags.

Hate to resurrect an old thread, but I'd like to see a "trip" thread as well.  Lots of good folks here with great things to share.  Facebook can be too busy to navigate through and other sites seem to get off the rails more often than not.  There might not be as much traffic here, but there's always something interesting to read about.  I'd just like to see more of it.  Thanks.

On Sunday, October 11 I was in Centerville idaho headed to Idaho City when I came across 3 bikepackers. A large fire in the Grimes Creek area was diverting traffic when I first passed these guys.  I saw them again on a dirt road and I was amazed at how fast they were going. I was on a KLR 650 and couldn't keep up with them on the downhill portion of the road. Don't know who they were but I was impressed with their downhill speed.

Any chance of a T-shirt might make it with the new logo?

Just picked up  GT Zaskar 29.  Saturday's ride just outside of Boise, FR 275 I believe.  Soon to have bags and lights.

Thanks for the info.  I went by Idaho Mountain Touring in the down town area and rented a Giant hardtail.  Next stop was Hulls Gulch just a new minutes north of the state capitol.   Great riding on various trails.  Much different from the flat landscape of Houston.

Taking a trip Boise next week and was looking to hit a few of the local bike shops.  Any suggestions?

Looks like I'm moving to Boise in the next few months. I had the chance to do a little hiking on my last trip there, but I'm looking for some advise on where to ride.  Thanks.

No artistic skill what so ever, but if I can help with any part of this let me know.

Still "buggin" about a T shirt.  Keep up the good work.  Great site.

I'm still hoping for something to come through on this.  Any word from Scott?

The adventure rider site has, by far, the best photos posted anywhere.  I'm terrible with a camera, but maybe some of those who are good at taking pictures could add some.  Maybe even a new threat here?
