Looks like the hubby is going to be faster than the wifey this year. Does this mean I don't have to cut him any more slack on long rides any more? Wink for a boy who was sick the last two weeks, CM is zooming!

Go Cat go! If I didn't have to work today, I'd be glued to the phone all morning.

NO MORE SLACK FOR CHRIS ON LONG RIDES!!! LOL! Magical Speed Racer Boi!!!

Is Jill off route?  Looks like she stayed on the AZT at X9 Ranch Road?

That is what I see too....

Yes, as Scott said, Jen Judge said she sliced her rear brake line -- she's contemplating riding to a shop to get it fixed and then riding back to where she left off.... I think that Jen's signed up for the 300, but will be touring the remaining 750 route.

I am indeed OK.  Two swollen knees (over the bars on seg 16 at 3AM, now that's exciting), broken small toes on each foot, the return of altitude demons...one hard f'n event this year.
More when I get back to civilization.  Gawd I miss the warm dry desert.

DHHHH!!!  we're sooo glad to hear from you!!!  way to ride, DH!! strong and BIG! so sorry to hear of the troubles and issues... take good care of yourself --- and holler if you need anything.

ed and i send you lots and lots of love!

No kidding!! Jefe -- what an amazing and incredible ride you had! Sorry to hear you were low on energy going into it --- I can't believe how hard that must have been to keep going and going and going.  Absolutely awesome!

Rest up!  Hope to see you soon!

champ... yup... that is what it looks like to me, esp when you focus in real close, and look at all his time stamps... but he's been stock-still for a little while now. maybe he's just finally taking a break and putting it all together in his head?

edit:  he's moving... in the backwards direction.

ugh. 5 bucks says he wants to pick up where he left off so as to 'completel the whole course'... even tho he put in a whole nights worth of extra trail.

this is jason's detour track...

i wonder what he's going to say, looking back on this all-night detour. i wonder what he HAS been saying and thinking.... seeing his track like this, and how he's looping back up to the trail ... and the time it's taken to do that... is amazing to me.

that has got to be supremely frustrating. i really hope he was and IS OK.

I added a bunch of names. How was Jefe doing? his spot isn't updating at the moment...

Jefe seemed good in the morning, but I failed to grab a pic. He just kept cruisin' up the hill. Ed saw him later in the day, further down the trail. Ed says he looked great, seemed very happy.  That was around noonish maybe, on the trail, a couple miles before the road (FR543) that takes you out to hwy 285.

Also, Cat wasn't sure if her spot was working... but I guess it looks like it is ;-).

20  Forums / Ultra Racing / MORE PIX! on: August 02, 2009, 05:16:33 PM
MORE PIX!!

These taken on the dry climb up from the Platte river to the "top of the world" section (where Woodland caught pix of the racers).

http://picasaweb.google.com/jenyjo/080209?feat=directlink.

It was awesome to see them all in one long stretch... all climbing the same hill.  I'll post names under the ones I know. Feel free to post names if you need or want!

EDIT:  I missed 3-5 racers... and I almost ran Jeffe off the darn trail... DOH!!!!  Anyway. These are posted in the order I encounted them.
