That's a great price

I purchased mine a month or so ago and on my longer trainer rides I use it. It's nice that my wife and friends can check on my whereabouts and
it keeps me going knowing that someone is watching me. Kind of a weird feeling in some ways...

I'm sure he or someone will find the time to take care of the Spots and Spot sign ups in time for the June 8th start.

I sent Trackleaders an email a week ago about linking my SPOT to their website for the race and I received an email saying,

"Just hang tight. There will be a form created in the next few weeks that will allow you to submit your Shared Page thru the right channel for TD racers"

Shoot Colorado could be up in flames by then.
I've lived in Colorado since 1980 and I never remember forest fires in March, but this year we had a few and there are some going on right now. They are in the front range, but still.

I've been running a new Nano TCS (tubeless compatible system) on Stan Flow rim on the rear and have about 800 - 1000 miles on it and it is holding up very well. Most of the miles have been dirt and paved roads.

@GRB:

Spot: I sent trackleaders an email last week about getting my SPOT to show up for the TD and they replied with,
"Just hang tight. There will be a form created in the next few weeks that will allow you to submit your Shared Page thru the right channel for TD racers."

So maybe in the next few weeks we will see some general info on the TD website as well.

Here's a link in the Q&A section on SPOTs if you haven't already seen it. Good info.

Answer to Q4:  To make your track appear on Trackleaders, you'll need to send Scott some money and your shared page link. Go to

So do I need to do this if I'm doing the TD to get it to show up for the tracker board once the race starts? I just purchased my SPOT and I figure I'll just use the "findmespot" now till the start of the TD.

Revelate Designs sells a "spocket", which is designed to house the SPOT.

I heard from Matt.

So what did ML say? I think you are the only person that has heard from him.

For those people who did email, I assume that there has been no answer yet, correct?

I have not received an answer.

And thanks for coming up with the spreadsheet.

Looks great Denis.

Maybe Scott or another bikepacking admin could make this a "sticky" so it always stays at the top underneath the 2012 Calendar.

So what is the allotted time? I thought I read somewhere (but can't find it now) it's twice as long as the 1st place finisher.

Gold Dust is all single track and has some tight stuff on it.
How wide is your trike?

I saw one of my buddy's saddle over the weekend and it doesn't look bad at all. Better than I thought, but what's that old saying? "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

My third Selle An-Atomica should be here in a week or so.

It's like the N+1 rule, but with saddles...

I have a Selle An-Atomica and love it. I saw somewhere that Selle An-Atomica site was selling the brown (only) for $99.98 while they last, which is half off. Two of my buddies just ordered them as well. Can't beat that price.

I read a few years back one of the GDR racers had his bike stolen in [Grants/Milan?] NM at a McDonalds I believe. Folks witnessed the theft, called the police and the racer got his bike back very quickly. But we're talking NM, not Colorado. Anything that's not monolithic or part of the bedrock is subject to being stolen in my lowly state of NM...

That was Matthew Lee's bike.
I think the cops and ML tracked it down by looking at his SPOT online.

Here's a quote from "Kurt Refsnider’s 2011 Tour Divide Setup"

"and a very light cable and lock. The last item simply keeps honest folks honest since there are a few towns along the route with some rather suspect characters hanging around the gas stations and fast food restaurants"

Phil, Not sure if you found Gold Dust cues yet, but I came across this. https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?hl=en_US&hl=en_US&key=0AkjYTTBAyG5KdEw3OTRtQzBTYm1WNE4tbnQ3NE9OREE&output=html

Just an FYI on Cue #8 - There is a cabin to the left when you come out onto the road that has a blue metal roof. You can see it when you are still on the singletrack right before the road.
I think it will be updated on TF as well it might already be there.

I posted this earlier in this thread, but just in case you didn't see it. It's not the GPX files, but it's the cues.

Just noticed the tourdivide site is down.... ??
On a side note. I did purchase the Narratives. But I'm too lazy to look as people were talking of resupply points. Anyone have mileages of the towns handy?
Thanks,
Mr lazy.

Hey Jryter,
You probably already know about this site, but in case you don't. It's interactive, so you can move the "A & B" balloon up and down the course and look at the mileage on the  left side. It doesn't have the Gold Dust trail in Colorado or the CDT in New Mexico.

Jeremy makes a handlebar harness. I ordered a custom frame bag and gas tank from him.
Here's a thread he posted a while back.
